Fresh White Dining Rooms

I still have a thing for predominantly white dining spaces and one of my favorite magazines, VTWonen, shows plenty of them month after month. I think I’ve pinned at least 20 of their rooms on my Pinterest boards! I met the editor-in-chief this summer and felt a bit like a fan girl before the celebrity she so much admires, it was a real highlight for me. VTWonen is my favorite magazine at the moment and I dream to someday have my home in it when it’s finished and even though I cannot understand a lot of Dutch (though my German studies have helped me oddly enough!) I still find it so forward and fresh.

Dining Rooms

Check out these dining rooms though…Some are a little too white for even my taste, but I do love the sheer pureness of them all, don’t you? They seem so clean and refreshing. I think the only change I would add to these spaces is to add a large wall mural, a gorgeously painted wall or a great wallpaper on a single wall as a feature. Overall though, these spaces really draw me in and make me feel at home. I think I’d also add some brightly colored accent, something that would be a real show stopper — like a canary yellow bright, neon orange lampshade or a hot pink chair.

Beautiful images….there is no doubt in my mind that one day I will have a white dining room – to me, that means white walls and floors. I think there is such an elegance to a foundation of white. It seems to make the things put inside the room special! I see that in these images!

I totally agree – to me these seem like a canvas or a starting point. They’re beautiful, but too much white doesn’t feel lived in. I totally want slightly distressed painted white wood floors though, like the second shot from the bottom, and some accents of color.

I love all the images. Well white is not so practical for dining room, especially with Asian cooking, but sometime we dont care about practicality when we talk about aesthetic :).

Oh yes! I love white interiors, and ideally I’d like white walls & floors…with some wood to warm up the scheme, and touches of colour in the accessories.
I really like the white dining area with purple/grey tablecloth…and I love the mix of chairs.
    Lovely shots.

Oh yes, I love the pure white look – with a few colourful accessories splashed about. I’m just about to a bold-patterned wallpaper to a white-walled room with wooden floors and furniture. Love that look.

I love the “bulb” lamps in the photo with the linen tablecloth and the two apples. Does anybody know them and where to get?

White dining room is not for me with young kids at home but there are so many other inspirations in these pictures that I can draw from, loving the targeted post :-)
I got your book for my birthday (chirstmas eve) and I am loving it, I know you must have heard it many times but I plan to write my thoughts about your book and share with you one of these days, your story is quite an inspiration :-)

My house had an all-white dining room when I moved in with matching floors, built-ins, walls, and ceiling fan. It really needed to be painted, though, because the last tenant had somehow managed to leave footprints on the walls that we couldn’t completely scrub off. Choosing a color that didn’t clash with the white floors was a lot harder than I’d imagined. I tried all kinds of neutrals but the white made them all look sterile and…juxtaposed in a really awkward way. Finally I found a shade of mint that worked well but I think white (floors in particular) can be really hard to work with when you’re trying to add color. However, I absolutely love that very top left picture. Delicious.
