New decor8!
I’m so happy to share with you the redesign of my blog, decor8! I decided to change it awhile ago but never made the time until earlier this year when I thought, “Enough is enough – time for change!” and have been working with MWA Design in London, Mark Wilson’s firm, along with illustrator Samantha Hahn, to spruce up my site. I’m so grateful to see the completion of this project today and while we’re still building some of the pages, I’m so happy with it. Mark also redesigned my decor8 e-course site so that everything works together and I am so pleased.
I particularly loved Mark’s idea to add a Decorate It! feature (to your right) so you as the reader can customize the background. Try it, it’s fun! I think I’ll change these from time to time but for now, the patterns are really nice I think and the overall site looks and feels like me so I’m very happy with it. I wanted something very easy to navigate, uncluttered and more professional looking without losing the handmade, tactile touches that I love so much.
I hope you like my new logo and the new decor8 blog – I’m so happy to reveal it! Thank you Mark and Simon from MWA Design, illustrator Samantha Hahn and my husband Thorsten who worked closely with Mark and Simon from beginning to end.

Great Holly – looks beautiful and I loved the BYW site.
One comment: the white logo and books, blog etc not as legible (against the white dots) as if it would be in a colour, even a faint colour. After all these headings are important to see… Really nice re-design everyone! Congratulations!!

The new makeover looks beautiful!!! I’m amazed at Mark’s ‘Decorate It’ feature. I’m having fun changing my backgrounds ;) It fits so well with your blog and decorating, cool! And how pretty are Samantha’s illustrations! Those birds on the branches, even the pencil at the comment section are all so wonderful! And so nice to see your lovely butterflies again. It would be super cool to have the butterfly flutter its wings when your mouse/cursor hovered over it, or even have the book turn its pages in your navigation area at the top ;) Just throwing that idea out there. I’ve been following decor 8 for quite a while now, and i was really surprised by the change you made, in a good way! Though I think your blog is sometimes a little bit too girly, it doesn’t matter cause it always gives me the feeling that i’m welcome. I also saw your beauty category on pinterest, turns out we have the same sense for beauty. My jaw dropped several times haha, keep up the good work!

Hola hola, well done you and the design team behind the new image of decor 8, loving the new look, logo, font choice, backgrounds, and over all design. I know how difficult and long journey can be to redesign your site/blog, as you are attached to it and can not see beyond certain things. I just relaunched mine, and it is being a stressful and sometimes painful process, but I am over the moon with the final result. Long life to decor 8!! and looking forward to the posts, have missed you young lady, but man you being busy…enjoy your soon holidays i will have to wait till October for mine, kisses from rainy London.

I love the style of your new blog but honestly I find it a little harder to read with all of the lightened areas……may be just my eyes getting older but wanted to be honest. Normally love the color scheme but for reading, just finding it a little off.

I love it, I am a blog bouncer.. meaning I go from blog to blog come back after a couple of weeks and see whats new, and bam I had to double check I was on the right site.
