The Socialite Family Blog

April 17, 2013

Have you checked out the newly launched bilingual (French/English) site called The Socialite Family? Founded by the amazing French journalist and stylist, Constance Gennari, whom I know from Milk magazine, the focus here is on creative families. It’s actually laid out a lot like Berlin-based Freunde von Freunden, only the focus is on families whereas FvonF tends to focus on singles and couples. I like that!

I loved finding amongst their many home tours the Nantes-based stylist, Aurélie Lecuyer, who happens to be one of my favorite bloggers from Le dans la.

What do you think of sites like this? Blogs acting as online magazines? Do you think we’ll be seeing more blogazines like this? I do, for sure. I love them!

Lovely concept! It took me longer than it should have to figure out how to switch it to English (sometimes the obvious eludes me!) – Once I did – I thoroughly enjoyed looking through it.

I’m smitten! I just adore being able to snoop into the homes of others, especially creative families. This site has that element like Freunde von Freunden of being able to capture a feeling, which is usually a lived-in, well loved home with heart. One more site to bookmark…thanks for sharing!

A great website. Just discovered the Hotel Edgar on there and it looks wonderful – I’d kill to know where they got the floor tiles from!

Lovely! The first image is my favorite. Love the herringbone floors in the second image too.

Die Wohnung sieht zwar nicht nach Familie aus, aber der Flur mit den vielen Ballonlampen ist ein schöner Hingucker.

    Hello Holly!
Very nice. I like to see, that living with kids not must be only practical and washable. I believe, if you show the love of design to your kids, they will love it, too. Just bookmarked the site for more inspiration in daily living.
    Thanks, for sharing! Greetings, Ria

I love this site. I just discovered it myself, and was really happy to find that it felt a bit more ‘relevant’ to me than FvF. It’s always nice, like another commenter pointed out, to see that living with children does not have to mean “wipe-clean”, but can be a great inspiration to be playful in your interior design.

Your site is truly a magnificent gem!

So cool! It’s a proof that it’s also possible to live in a stylish, contemporary environment even with kids! Would be great to see where those families go on vacation. Because it’s so difficult to find affordable contemporary kids-friendly hotels…

    Best, Viviane

I like a lot this interior. Not so much the dark grey wall because it’s now too commun. But the carpet with the coffee table is great. The idea of all the balls lights in the corridor is also very nice!!
