Baby Boy's Room - Progress Report

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good week. I'm sorry I've been absent but I fell down a flight of stairs on Monday and was hospitalized since I'm 32 weeks pregnant and my fall was quite severe. I landed on my back and didn't break anything, but my fear was my baby boy and so I instantly went to the labor ward at the hospital and was admitted immediately. I am home now, and still awaiting results from a final test, but it seems as though my little boy is okay and that nothing major has happened. They told me that he is old enough now to where they could still save him and perform an emergency c-section, so I instantly felt better the moment I was in the safety of the labor ward - I knew I was in good hands. I had to under go constant monitoring and testing for a few days and they wanted to hold me until the end of this week but then they gave me the option to go home since I live 10 minutes away and told me to take it easy and to keep in close touch with my doctor in the labor ward until my final blood work exam comes back. Once I'm "all clear" I can go back to business as usual. In the meantime, I'm resting and staying hopeful and feel confident that everything is going to be just fine. Next time I'm in the labor ward, which will be next month, I will be giving birth to my lovely little boy so I'm definitely excited and thinking ahead to that wonderful moment to share with my husband. babyroomprogress1

I thought I'd update you on our home renovations. They are coming along very nicely! The "kite" wallpaper (that I purchased from Ferm Living) is up in the baby's room along with the paint - as soon as the trim work is finished and the flooring is laid, which will be next week, I will take some photos and show you how it's coming along. I've been posting bit-by-bit updates on Instagram (@decor8) if you are interested in following me over there - please do.  The wall color is a pale mint called Cabbage White from Farrow & Ball. The 3 walls are in Cabbage White and the wall around the window is decked out in the cute kite wallpaper. The ceiling and all trim work is in pure white. There is no trim along the top of the window so I will mount a roman blind from the actual wall to conceal that.

So far, I love it. It was exactly what I was hoping for. And the pattern on the wallpaper is something that will grow with him. And once he's older, we can simply paint the wall or replace the pattern with something else more grown up. So much easier and more affordable than if I had wallpapered the entire room. Plus, the pattern isn't something I would have wanted on all four walls, it would have made me dizzy - so the splash on the wall around the window is just perfect - not too much but still graphic and eye-catching.

I can't wait to show you some more photos next week after the flooring is in and when I can get into the property with my Canon vs. my iPhone! Also, the furniture for the room should arrive by December 25th, so I'll be able to share those pieces as we place them in the space too.

See you soon with more posts and pics and plenty of decorating updates!
