Win $500 Gift Card From Pottery Barn + Ken Fulk

September 9, 2015

Would you like to win a $500 gift card from Pottery Barn and see a Autumn dinner party that I put together to celebrate their new Ken Fulk collection? As a design writer, I come across many beautiful products yet Pottery Barn is one American retailer that I return to when seeking beautiful, approachable and quality pieces for my home. I’ve been shopping them since I was in college because they are one of the best sources for creating stunning interiors. As Autumn nears, I’m dreaming up some tabletop ideas for the gatherings that I’ll host… That is why when Pottery Barn teamed up with San Francisco-based designer Ken Fulk, I had to see what he was designing for them. This is their exclusive, first ever product collaboration so it’s a pretty big deal for Pottery Barn fans and those who love Ken Fulk because they can bring a high-end decorator’s touch to their home without breaking the bank. Here is a glimpse…

This exclusive line is so well-edited that you can mix and match without worry that items won’t work together because they all match beautifully. In addition to tabletop, you will find furniture, lighting, soft furnishings and so much more. I have my eye on the tailored bed skirt and the orange lacquer boxes because they are so chic. To show you a few items from this collection in my home, I’ve dressed my recent dinner party with the Ken Fulk painted canvas table runner, painted canvas placemats and spoon straws for our gin & tonic bar. I love the heavy deep blue/black canvas of the runner and placemats and that the off-white color that mimics sea salt – pure (not creamy) but also not pure white – And I enjoy how well they work in my very light and bright home, the contrast is just great and illustrates how well his collection works in a variety of interiors.

Known for his exuberant style, Ken Fulk is an American decorator and event designer from Virginia with a staff of nearly 50 headquartered in San Francisco, California where he lives and works. He designs for hot spots and for high profile clients which is why his collaboration with Pottery Barn is so special – it’s his signature style but available to all budgets. His signature style is a mix of European (English countryside mixed with Paris townhouse) combined with classic American Federal style so there are nods of his European travels and his childhood in the south, in his work. A fan of Oscar Wilde, like me, I love that his favorite guest of honor to have at a party would be Wilde himself.

Have you ever been asked that question, who would you love to have at a dinner party? Let’s play a little game… But first, here’s my early Autumn table with his very own table runner, placemats and spoon straws.

I would have Jeffrey Allan Marks to dinner. I could have his book signed and rack his brain on interior design ideas I have for my home. He could help me formulate my plan or let me know if I am on track. With the $500 I would put it towards a wool/jute rug which I have had my eye on for a while but have not been able to afford.

I would have over my husband’s mother, as she’s moving to Virginia in three weeks. With $500 from Pottery Barn, I would put it towards the Sofia extra-wide white dresser for my little girls nursery. We need a dresser in there!

I’d really love to have Angelina Jolie over for a dinner party. I love the social issues she is involved with and as a former student of human rights who is interested in women’s rights who is also a mother, I think she’d be so fascinating to learn from!

And from the PB site, I really love the Warren pulley task floor lamp. I’m a sucker for lighting!

I am totally in love with the Bedding at Pottery Barn. Of course, all their stuff is amazing, but I have been thinking of a bedroom makeover and still need a nice quilt – this BELGIAN FLAX LINEN FLORAL STITCH QUILT & SHAM is woderful and a bedskirt is still needed as well – this PB ESSENTIAL BED SKIRT would be great.

The one guest I would love to have over is Marilyn Monroe. She is such an icone and I would love to get to know her better. I think she had an amazing personality and most people have just gotten to know her outside that she showed to the public. I would love to talk to her!

I would love to have in a dinner party Alvar Aalto! Because I just love the way he designed his products, inspired in nature and in Finland. I absolutly adore clean design and his Paimium chairs! And I would like to ask him how he transport the forest to a vase!

I would love to won the Tristan Bar Cart. I looking for one for so long, and this is beautiful

    Sorry for my bad english!

Since my ultimate fantasy dinner guest, Cornelia Bryce Pinchot (who was the genius behind decorating the mansion at Grey Towers) is no longer living, I think I might like to have Ken Fulk himself as a guest. I like the traditional but fresh look of his style – and the fact that some of his Pottery Barn pieces involve dogs!)

One think I woul love to buy from Pottery Barn is the beautiful Neena quilt set. I love changing my bedding look seasonally or on a whim, because there is nothing like the pleasure of being delighted every time I retire to my nightly sanctuary.!

  • Reply Kelly Ryan September 9, 2015 at 12:35 pm

I would invite our family and our friends who are like family. Without a doubt the Ken Fulk Sconce – amazing! I do love the leather couches too!

  • Reply Simone September 9, 2015 at 12:56 pm

I would love to have dinner with Elizabeth Bennett and her Mr. Darcy, just to check how they dealt with daily life and if they had kids running around in Pemberly. If it has to be a living, real person I would choose to have dinner with Angela Merkel to talk with her about the current fugitive situation in Germany and how she could do so much more to help them in this difficult situation.

Maybe not the best fit with their british taste, but definitely mine would be the ROSARIO KILIM RECYCLED YARN INDOOR/OUTDOOR RUG I found on Pottery Barn. I just love kilims and need one for my dining room.

For my dinner party guest list . . . Maya Angelou for literary inspiration, Dona Hay for menu suggestions, Sam Elliot to announce each course (that voice ;)), Idris Elba to discuss his brilliant work in ‘Wire’ & ‘Luther’ Series, Hugh Laurie for conversational topic choices (wonderful storyteller and musician), Penny de Los Santos to capture the amazing food and ambience, Ken Fulk . . . so that I can light The Applause sign in appreciation for his design skills, Billy Jean King to share her life story and after looking at this blog post . . . you, Holly Becker who I would kindly ask to come early to help me style such an amazing party.

My ‘one’ dream item from Pottery Barn . . . I’m going to need a bigger dining table. Love all PB looks, so any one that seats ten. ;)

I would invite the designers from TLC’s show Fixer Upper to my dinner party because they seem like an awesome couple and they could give me some house design advice. I would use the $500 towards purchasing one of Potterybarns beautiful sectional couch’s for my living room because I have wanted one for a long time!

  • Reply Eleanor September 9, 2015 at 1:11 pm

I would love to have Ina Garten over to dinner. I admire the way she left her career to follow a dream and then turned that dream into her own mini empire! Her laid back nature would make for easy conversation and if I was lucky she might even bring a side dish! and I certainly wouldn’t mind hearing all about that gorgeous home of hers in the Hamptons.
My home is full of Pottery Barn pieces I have purchased over the years. They offer such great, adaptable style at a friendly price point and always seem to deliver on exactly what I need/want in my home. We are currently in the process of relocating from the East Coast to Nashville and I want a farmhouse style table for our new home. I would put the $500 towards the Braxton Dining Table – it’s perfect!

  • Reply Eleanor September 9, 2015 at 1:12 pm

Oh, and I couldn’t help but pin your gorgeous table setting to my Gatherings board – it’s stunning in its simplicity!

I’m pretty sure you were asking about someone famous but I would love to have one last dinner my paternal Grandmother, maternal one is still alive. who passed away almost 10 years ago. She was such an amazing, intelligent, and beautiful person and I still miss her everyday. My grandmother always had the most amazing/cheerful bedding and I know she would have loved the Flora duvet and sham.

    1. I’d love to have dinner with my brother and sister. I don’t see them too often and when we see each other, we don’t have a lot of time to sit down and chat. Instead we take care of the house and garden our parents left us. So sitting down together, have nice food and chat would be awesome.

    2. I’m searching for a rug since we moved into our flat (4 years now). I’d love to have a junky wool rug like this (

Would love to have a dinner party with Emily Henderson. She seems like a really cool gal. Would love to own a swing arm sconce or 5 from pottery barn. Their lighting is soooo goood.

  • Reply Lindsay September 9, 2015 at 1:39 pm

I think the mid century orb chandelier would be perfect above my dining room table.

And who wouldn’t want bill Murray over for supper? Conversation would be so fun!

If I could have anyone over for a dinner party, it would be Ellen. She must have so much to talk about!
I would put the 500$ towards a dreamy leather chesterfield sofa!

I would love to have Goldie Hawn over for dinner. I’ve always loved her zest for life and find her to be so interesting and she seems like a joy to be around.
It’s a tie between the Clara Lattice Daybed from Pottery Barn. It’s the perfect piece for my office/guest room. I also love the storage underneath or the Secretary desk.

That is such a tough question! there are so many people I would love to have over for dinner but I think if I HAD to narrow it down I would have to say either Martha Stewart or Ina Garten. I’m OBSESSED with the Ken Folk collection.. I walked into my local PB last week and couldn’t believe how perfect the pieces melted in with traditional Pottery Barn. I have to have the Winslow Arc Sectional floor lamp!

I would love to have the Queen of England to dinner. She is an incredible walking piece of history. I imagine the conversation would be so very interesting. I of course would need the London pillow cover and a new rug and Belgian flax linen napkins. Fingers crossed.

Hello , if I had the opportunity I would love to have dinner with Eddie Redmayne . It is one of my favorite actors , even from the times of “the pillars of the earth”. I am Italian, and the store of Pottery Barn no longer exists here unfortunately, in fact I found out online. I am completely in love with the sets for the bed , I had already spoken on my blog , so with the $ 500 I could finally fulfill my dream of owning one. Sorry for my English.

Id love to have Ellen DeGeneres over for dinner, she seems so fun loving and has such a kind soul.
We just moved into a town house from an apartment, so we are a little under-furnished.
We also had to buy a washer and dryer unexpectedly so my décor budget is gone.
I would love to have an ottoman or storage bench even to replace our coffee table (an 11 month old is not meant to be around a coffee table)
I love this bench in Gray
or maybe a leather one, that would be easier to clean.
Also, the 21st is my birthday!! just in case ;)

I would love to have Alton Brown for a dinner party. He has such a great sense of humor and cooks amazing foods. He would probably give me wonderful cooking tips. With $ 500 I would buy the 20 piece set Antique Silver Flatware, I’m crazy about it!!! Sure I would still have some money leftover that would be gladly spent in other things I have an eye on it!

I would love to have Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent to dinner. We could have talk about their little baby and we could gossip about the design world :) I would love to own Tristan Bar Cart. It seems so cool, and I can use it as a side table instead of a classic one.

Hello there, at my dinner party I would invite friends I hadn’t seen in a very long time. What a great way/excuse (like I need one) to reconnect with those low maintenance friends. You know the kind, haven’t seen each other in far too long but pick up right where you left off. I’ve been ogling the PB Jasmine floor lamp. Don’t have an overhead light in my dining area and placed next to the table it would gleam and shine!

If I could pick any people in the world it would be my mom, my aunts, Oprah and Pope Francis because it would literally be their dream come true :). I would love to have Vivian Gornick, the author of The Odd Woman and The City for a dinner party. Her books shows an amazing ear for the revealing and funny snatches of conversation heard on the streets of New York – I think she’d be a delightful guest for dinner. With $500 at Pottery Barn, I’d invest in a couple of their fabulous framed corkboards – I need some spaces where I can put up bits and pieces of my huge collection of family photos and mementos from different moments of my life! – and some of Pottery Barn’s spatter serving ware – the pattern is cheerful and timeless!

  • Reply Erin S. September 9, 2015 at 3:31 pm

Allen Ginsberg, would be my dinner guest. I’ve always found the Beat generation interesting and while I’d love to sit next to Jack Kerouac, Ginsberg is the one I’d want to actually engage in a conversation.

We have a very lovely antique dining room table but I’d love to have something more substantial (some in our house still forcefully put their elbows on the table) like the Toscana Tables, especially paired with a bench instead of chairs.

I would like to have Tom Waits for my diner party. O actually I can’t cook, but I really think he wouldn’t mind so we would have a interesting evening. I really like the applause light box. It’s a fun object I think.

If you want someone famous, it would be Mary Engelbreit. I’ve loved her artwork & home design for years! But ultimately it would be my three children and their families. It gives me so much pleasure to spend time with my adult children and of course, my grandchildren! The one thing I would enjoy having from Pottery Barn would be the Chloe Round Coffee Table. With toddlers around, it would be nice to have something without corners for bumping little heads. It would also change the look of my living room. That said, please pick me!

I’d have Hugh Jackman and his family over for dinner. We met him at an Aussie hosted event years ago and he is a great guy. My non social husband chatted with him for about 15 minutes and enjoyed the easy and interesting conversation. Plus I looked kinda rough in the picture we took with him so would love to have a better pic. ;-)

This would definitely be on my list to buy as well as a few of the decorative faux coral pieces:|decorative-home-accents|

I’d love to get the Griffin Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table at Pottery Barn!

I would have Abigail Ahern for dinner and talk dark colours with her. The caden leather bench from Pottery Barn reminds me of my gym days at school where we woud jump over the “Kasten” or even fly over it. It would be so great in our entrance of the house, to sit down for tying up shoe laces or have a little rest before jumping into family life with 3 children in the evening.

I would love to gather together a group of my favorite writers for a dinner party — Anne Carson, Ben Lerner, and Karl Ove Knausgaard. They’re all so incredibly smart that it would be fun to listen to them chat with each other about their different approaches to writing and life in general. We could eat around the Mendoza Large Pedestal Table which I desperately need as an upgrade to my current fold-up kitchen table!

My boyfriend and I are getting our first apartment together, so I would love to have a dinner party welcoming everyone of my friends and his friends into our new abode. Not an extravagant person, but a huge undertaking nonetheless.

With a new apartment means a barren space, and bringing together of two people’s stuff, so I would definitely use the $500 on a bedroom set, in terms of sheets and comforters.

Wow, this would truly be a dream come true. If I could chose one person to have over for dinner it would definatly be Ellen Degenoris. Because we love her energy and how loving and caring she is towards everyone. And I know she would be a blast to hang out with and our boys would love to have her join in our nightly dance parties in the living room! Lol
I am always online oohing and awing over all of the amazing items Pottery Barn carries. But as a stay at home mom of 4 boys and a tight budget. We always put our boys needs first. Their are so many items I would love to own from Pottery Barn. But I have wanted to redue our bedroom forever. And if I was chosen as the very grateful winner. I would definatly purchase “The Mason Duvet Cover & Sham (in the blue tones). along with the Classic Micromax Down-alternative Duvet insert. And the to finish it off I would purchase the Chanille Coverlet in Blue Smoke. This has been my dream bedding for a couple months now. And it would look so beautiful in our bedroom. I would love to have one room in the house that can be mommys favorite room! And a place to go and relax after a long day. Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity.

My family and I had to walk away from our home almost two years ago. This was the home that my husband and I got marred in and had our two children in, so it was a very difficult time for all of us. We had to start over completely and have beening living in a two bedroom apartment ever since. After many sacrifices, we finally were able to begin the process of purchasing a new home. We found our dream home and God-willing, we will close soon. When we are finally able to host a dinner party, I would love to have all of our family and friends (near and far) who have supported us throughout this tough journey to be around our dining room table, sharing in our joy. If I could choose one piece from The Pottery Barn, I would purchase the Lorraine Extending Dinning Room Table. It’s the perfect piece for my family dinner.

I would have my family over for a dinner party! I know that sounds lame, but we don’t live in the same city, and I used to go to my dad’s for dinner parties all the time. It’s something I miss terribly! And I absolutely love PB’s Carlisle Upholstered Sofa, so I’d love to own that!

Friendly Tip-Not for Publication — You might want to check the proper way to set a table; the knife goes on the right side of the plate with the cutting edge facing in and the fork goes on the left, even in a casual setting.

@Samantha – Oh god how embarrassing! I set this the morning after arriving back from shoots in Amsterdam with my 18-month-old pulling on my skirt the whole time… I was half asleep and not even thinking but hey, I guess I can just call this a new trend and smile about it – we all make mistakes. :)

I would love to have Sarah Addison Allen at a dinner party. She’s my favorite author and it’d be interesting to ask her millions of questions about my favorite books.

One item I’d love to get is the PB Prop Rustic Ladder. I’ve had my eye on a ladder to hang up some blankets, and this one looks perfect.

I would love to have Conan O’Brian at my dinner party. I’ve enjoyed his show for nearly as long as I can remember. He is very funny and intelligent, and I believe he would be a great party guest. Browsing throw the PB site, it is hard to choose just one thing! I would probably get one of their floor lamps, like the architect’s task floor lamp, to help brighten up my brand new (and very empty) apartment!

I would love to have Mike, Frank, and Danielle from American Pickers over. As a vintage lover and seller, I think it would be super fun to hear their stories firsthand, share mine, and talk antiques with them. :)

Since I recently put in a stone patio, I would love to have some of the Outdoor Decor from Pottery Barn – the large planters would look fabulous filled with colorful flowers and I have no patio furniture. So I’d love to have some outdoor seating like the Larkspur Teak Amrchair for entertaining and simply enjoying myself.

I think the person I would love as a dinner guest would actually be my grandfather whom I never got to know because he passed away when I was barely two years old. I’d love to hear stories from him and hear his jokes.
For what I’d like from Pottery Barn where to start?! I’d love the scroll tile rug in indigo blue. They have such beautiful things.

I’d love to have my wonderful president, Barack Obama, to dinner. I’d ask him how he negotiates the way he does, and what kind of obligations he has going into the final months of his presidency. I’m curious what type of realistic solutions he’d have to address the global-warming issue, what I’d argue is the biggest issue of our time. To answer question number two, I’d want the Leona Console Table. Something about it is just so perfect.

WOW. your setting is absolutely gorgeous, it just makes you want to prepare a dinner party yourself right away!

I am already styling a table in my mind. I would pick those marble cheese boards and more table items for and overall fresh and bright appearance. If they would still be alive I would love to invite Charles & Ray Eames, as they are my design heroes even from to time on before I actually studied design. It would be so interesting to talk to them (& it would be actually great to talk to somebody who died before I was born.

PS. Love this idea of storytelling and your little game. Curious to read more posts!

I would definitely have Stephen King to dinner. Just eating on the porch and debating whether the story would be the same, if the “Overlook Hotel” had been decorated in another, more inviting fashion. I would love to be the proud owner of a Caden Leather Rectangular Ottoman :)

Starting in the design industry, one of the first bogs that caught my attention and really stood out to me as “Wow, she really knows how to put colors together and create something unique,” was Amy at Gather and Build. Her home decor blog emphasizes clean organic shapes, with a rustic look and a pop of color. As someone who is pursuing a career in design and advertising, I feel that Amy would be the perfect down-to-earth person who wouldn’t mind giving me tips, and help lead me in the right direction with starting my own projects. I adore being able to connect to fun people who absolutely LOVE what they do and are able to share their infectious inspiration with other people; Amy seems like just the person.
Coming into my own in the working word, being able to afford nice new furniture is impossible, I would like to start with a clean statement couch, preferably the Cameron Roll Arm Slipcovered Sofa in a grey or oatmeal.

I would love to have Jenny Lawson, The Bloggess, over for dinner. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t manage to eat anything between all the uncontrolled giggling. I’d love to own the Anja Wool Loop Rug from Pottery Barn. Thank you for hosting such a generous give away!

I’d love to have Oprah over for a dinner party. I’d pick her brain about women in leadership roles and how to inspire future leaders. I bet she’d bring a killer home-grown veggie side dish, too! ;) And I’ve been pining over that Ken Fulk sconce since it debuted. Would love two of those! Oh, or the Clarissa chandelier! Or the Brooklyn Leather Sofa… so many heart eyes….

I would have artist Imogen Cunningham to dinner – if only to see how she would come dressed – as herself or in costume and the story she would tell based on her ‘persona’ for the evening. I love her approach to art and her ability to transform herself entirely. I would put the $500 towards the Ken Fulk Leather Pommel Bench – I love the rich leather color and how it lends a masculine hand to my otherwise feminine design style.

I would love to have Lee Radziwill to dinner. She has had such a fabulous life and has exquisite taste, and I feel like if there’s anyone that knows how to throw a dinner party, it’s this woman. Ideally I’d have the money before the dinner (if I’m hosting), because nearly any rug would improve the look of my apartment, which, of course, has cheap beige carpet. That or a new dresser with drawers deeper than those of my depression-era great grandmother’s, which I’m sure worked for her petite frame but struggles to contain my tall husband’s XL shirts.

As a former dancer, I would love to host Twyla Tharp for dinner. I’ve seen her perform a couple times and would be fascinated to hear her stories of growing up during the ‘modern dance’ movement. I would put the PB gift card towards the Bronson Bookcase…would love to see that in my master bedroom!

I would love to own this Persian rug:

Hmm…I’m gunna say possibly Tina Fey or Amy Poelher. They seem like they would be amazing company and every dinner part needs some laughs. And I would love the Flora Garden duvet cover but I’m pretty sure my husband would never go for that so maybe the Vintage Astrological Chart. Love it!

This is fun! Well, there are so many wonderful people. However, I would love to have a dinner party with my grandfather who died about 20 years ago. I needed maturity to realize there is so much more I should I have asked him. It would be so much fun to get insight into my family and really ask Poppy what he thought of raising his 4 children. Now that I am a Mom, I have so much more to ask….
I would love to update some lighting- I really love the Ken Fulk Wall Sconce. My son just asked me for more lighting in his room and this would look wonderful.

I always know lots of famous people I would love to see but really have over for dinner.. I mean, it’s just a dream right but I would invite Harvey Specter aka Gabriel Macht for dinner. First of all he is very handsome, but second of all every time I see something of him I find him so friendly, open and normal. I don’t know but he feels like he could be my neighbor or something :-) (OMG, my husband would laugh at me reading this…)
With winning the $500 I would spend it on a new rug for in our dining area. I love those Kilim rugs from Pottery Barn like the Inez type. Gorgeous.

I would love to have my mother & father…(and my siblings). You didn’t say pick one ;)
In the last two years my mother has been stricken with something – could be parkinson’s, could be lyme, could be anything- Drs are unsure. BUT it has all but basically robbed her of her mobility. She is still the same lovely woman with a kind heart. My father is the rock that is there at every moment, helping with doctor visits, getting her bathed, grocery shopping, cooking…you name it. And to top it off, my grown handicapped sister lives with them and needs much assistance too. So, needless-to-say, they are overwhelmed. My father is “unsure” if my mother could make the trip for our annual Christmas gathering – although he is pretty sure it is NOT a possibility. So, who would I love to have for dinner?…What I wouldn’t give to have my mother & father here to celebrate an endless meal of food, laughter and conversation with their children (and grandchildren).
What Id like from PB website is easier…the ever classic leather chesterfield sofa!

I would definitely have my family over for a dinner party. Hanging with my family makes me happy and it makes for a chill, laugh-filled evening. The one thing (ONE?) I would love to own from Pottery Barn right now is the Reynolds Long Low Media Suite. I’ve been saving my pennies for that for a few months now!

  • Reply Kathy Scott September 9, 2015 at 7:30 pm

What I really want is Ken Fulk’s amazing spectator shoes, but since they aren’t for sale at PB, I would love to have a pair of the cheetah print hide pillows. Every room needs a touch of animal print….and I love to accent it with fuchsia or emerald green.

My guest of choice for my sophisticated 60s dinner party would be Audrey Hepburn in her Holly Golightly persona. Audrey has a vulnerability and compassion that is so endearing.Everyone at the party would be classically dressed to the nines. I would choose a modern lbd, long black gloves, an up-do, and lots of rhinestones. The conversation would be lively and diverse, just as the guests.

I would invite Ina Garten…the Barefoot Contessa…so that I could cook for her (and she could critique and give me some tips–especially how she cooks in a light colored shirt without getting splashes of food on her!). I love her recipes/cookbooks/lifestyle and think she would be an excellent dinner companion. She seems like we could cook and laugh together. I’m sure she’d bring her husband Jeffrey (he seems nice) and maybe she’d bring some of her lovely friends who always bring a nice flower arrangement or something. I would buy the copper Moscow Mule mugs so that I could make everyone some refreshing drinks in the proper barware. Who doesn’t love a Moscow Mule?!

She forged a smart path for her career as a young woman, took charge of her health when she got cancer, and has reached out to help people worldwide. She’d be a very fun and interesting dinner guest. With the $500, I would love to get a new home office desk from Pottery Barn. I really like Hendrix Small Smart Technology Desk!

I would love to have our best friends from England for a dinner party. They weren’t able to come to our wedding so I would throw a 4 years later ‘second wedding’ dinner party using all the grays and neutrals and flowers we had at our wedding, just so we could do a round of toasts with them! We got engaged while visiting them in England so it just feels right :)

As far as product it’s so hard to choose just one! We are bed shopping right now so I’d have to say the Chloe or Lonny storage beds. The sort of furniture that’s timeless and you can redecorate around and not have to replace is the best kind!

But to answer your questions: I would love to have my oldest friend as a guest, as we lost contact over the years, we just met recently again and I would love to talk about what happened in her life. To chat and eat and laugh a whole night long. That would be so nice! Another guest I’d love to have, if he was still alive, I would pick Roald Dahl. My favourite author of all times and I read almost every book of him. It would be nice to chat with him on how he found inspiration and how he started writing, the process of writing and I would love to have read his genius mind… Other guests would be my children, my husband, our closest friends and loads of great food, appetizers and cocktails. :-)
The thing I’d love to have the most, is a new headboard (and a new bed as well)… This one is my husband’s (and my) favourite:|upholstered-beds-headboards|

But I also have my eye on Ken Fulk’s spoonstraws, place mats and lighting sconces… These would be great to buy as well! :-)

Hi, I would invite some of our dearest, oldest friends over for a special dinner. I would probably grill out with lots of fresh vegetables and thick steaks, a fresh salad with ingredients from the farmer’s market and the meal ended with maybe some fresh grilled fruit, like peaches and vanilla icecream. I love just about everything Pottery Barn and I would have a hard time choosing what to use the gift card on, but whatever I pick would be cherished!

Hi, I would invite some of our dearest, oldest friends over for a special dinner, because we don’t get together often enough! I would probably grill out with lots of fresh vegetables and thick steaks, a fresh salad with ingredients from the farmer’s market and the meal ended with maybe some fresh grilled fruit, like peaches and topped with vanilla ice cream. I love just about everything Pottery Barn and I would have a hard time choosing what to use the gift card on, but since our “leather” sofa set we purchased a few years ago is falling apart, I would put the money towards a new sofa! (we were told it was leather and the black fabric/plastic? obviously not leather, is peeling off the surface….so infuriating). Thank you for this amazing giveaway. ;)

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Pottery Barn is still making its upholstered furniture in the United States. The one product I would love to have is a large, multi-piece Cameron modular sofa. I have a studio loft in a renovated factory building and the Cameron pieces, in white, would look great against the brick walls and wood floors! Plus, they are perfect for small-space living. They could be rearranged to serve as extra seating at the dining table, while the fold-out sofa would make up for my lack of a guest room.
As for my dinner guest, I would love to invite John Stewart. He’d make me laugh and think, and we’d have a friendly argument or two. To me, great conversation Makes a meal even more delicious.

If I could have anyone at a dinner party I think I would invite Oprah. I’m not a big Oprah fanatic, didn’t really watch her show or read all the books she recommended but I think she would be a very interesting person. She knows everyone, been everywhere and done everything and I am sure the conversation would be lively and fun. However, in spite of all that, I get the sense she is a humble person – the type of person who would want to get to know you and somehow bring out the best in you. I think she would be a gracious guest and not judgmental, which is why I wouldn’t feel intimidated to have her visit my home.

I love Pottery Barn furniture and always have. I have the Greenwich sofa collection in my living room right now. With a $500 gift card, I would finally be able to buy the Manhattan leather armchair with nail heads. I would love to have a big chair of my own that I could sit in and read a good book next to the fire with a nice glass of Cabernet. Let’s make that happen!!! (Thanks! PS I love the orange lacquer boxes in the Ken Fulk collection too, but I will buy those on my own without the gift card!)

Fantasy dinner guest would be Leonardo da Vinci, artist, inventor, mathematician, and, left-handed! Another left-handed guest would be the famous RBG! Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Supreme Court Justice. To have both would be a fascinating meeting of the minds. I’d invite close friends and family members to round out a fascinating meal, cooked in our new bread oven. The Ken Fulk spoon straws are simple, stunning, and functional! I would love to add them to our hard-working “arsenal” of kitchen utensils.

Andy Warhol seemed like a hip, fun guy who, of course, was a brilliant artist. Bono is the lead singer of my favorite band and the greatest band ever: U2.! Kelly Wearstler would be a dream dinner companion! Not only would she be fabulously dressed, I’m sure the table would be as well (let’s pretend she’s designing the tablescape)! Her aesthetic with design, fashion, and tablescapes create a dreamy, magical, sexy, luxurious, opulent vibe that I cannot get enough of- I want to be part of her world, even just for dinner!
I would love anything from Pottery Barn, but I especially adore the Ken Fulk 5-piece L-shape Quilted Leather sectional. It is gorgeous! 😍 And, I agree- the canopy, placemats, and tablerunner (also by Ken Fulk) are fabulous!

*If I could add some extra dinner guests, I would love to include Jonathan Adler (and Simon, of course), Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Mary McDonald, Katherine Ireland, and Tim Gunn,. (Wouldn’t that be FABULOUS?!) And, Holly Becker. 😄

Es würde ihr so viel Freude machen, sie zu sehen.

Mr. Carter’s interiors make you want him as a close and favorite friend.

I would love to have the Ken Fulk metal crocodile coffee table (sitting in front of our fireplace) so I could cover it with food that young folks like to eat; and drinks, for an early fall gathering; sitting on the floor on pillows and throws, and then offer a lot of yummy desserts! I’d love to have a dinner party with my family, because I am never happier than when I am surrounded by them. If I could invite a very special guest, it would be Peter Frampton. We have seen him in concert several times, and I just love how much he enjoys what he does. We have a lot of music lovers in our family and I’m sure it would lead to some wonderful conversation and we would share lots of laughs. I would have to set the table with Pottery Barn’s Antique Silver Napkin Rings, inscribed with “Friends and Family” , as an homage to my dear Mom. She always set the table with real cloth napkins in silver napkin rings, and seeing those brought to mind such a flood of happy memories!
If I were chosen for the $500.00 gift card, I would purchase the Hailey Hexagon Side Table. In 38 years of marriage, I have not bought a single side table! It would be so nice to have just one of my own choosing, and I think that one would be the perfect choice to work well with our eclectic inherited pieces.

I’ve been eyeing one of the area rugs from Pottery Barn for a long time, so this would be a great chance to invest in one. I can’t decide on a color, but probably a neutral like grey. Such a hard decision, as I love everything PB, but I’m looking for chairs right now, and have my heart set on the Radcliffe Chair! Beautiful!

I would love to have my younger brother and his family over for dinner. My wonderful in laws have never met my amazing brother. It would be great to have everyone together for a home cooked family meal. It’s hard to choose just one thing from Potterybarn because everything is so perfect! If I have to choose one thing it would be the EVELYN EXTENDING DINING TABLE so my entire family could all be at the same table. Thank you for this generous giveaway.

I’d have my mom over for dinner. I’m at an age where so many of my friends are losing their parents and it’s made me realize how lucky I am to be so close to mine, both geographically and emotionally. I’ve always told my kids that nothing is more important than the relationships in your life, and you need to work at them.
That being said I love the bedding from PB! I joke that I have never owned “adult” bedding, it’s always been a mish mash of sheet sets on sale combined with pillow cases that don’t match. I have always wanted beautiful bedding but being a single mom with three kids and two of them in college, it has never made it to the top of the priority list!

    2) Love to win: the Whitfield Buffet. I didn’t get to purchase a grand present for my sons wedding and this was on their list.
LOVE your style, by the way. It has my kind of shabby undertones, while suiting all genders. Throw some lace with the deep denim and wow! <3

I have a large family that I’m very close to, but being a military family, we live many miles away from our family and don’t get to see them often. If I could snap my fingers and have them all here at once, that would be wonderful. :)

First off, thank you for the opportunity! This is my first time on your page, and I am excited to see more!

If I were hosting a dinner party, I would invite all of my family and friends. Right after college I moved away from my family and friends to live with my now husband. We have moved 3 times in the last 4 years (across the country each time). Being able to host my very own dinner party has always been a dream! But it is hard when family and friends are so far away. I would love to bring in members of my family and our friends and host a wonderful evening full of good food and great company!

I am the biggest fan of Pottery Barn! Right now, I would love to have the Benchwright towers for my media stand. Benchwright is my all time favorite collection! It is timeless!

Thanks again for the opportunity! Happy Decorating! :)

Perhaps you are looking for a famous or well known name to enjoy their company at a dinner party but I would love to have my sister-in-law and best friend for a dinner party. She lives 2000 miles away and it’s been far too many years since we’ve been able to sit down and enjoy dinner and cocktails…without kids! She will make any party fun and entertaining and I miss her dearly. She introduced me to my husband so without her I wouldn’t have two incredible kiddos.

If I could pick anything from Pottery Barn I would love to have the Ken Fulk 5 piece leather sectional because who wouldn’t want to relax on that with a beverage in hand after a wonderful dinner party? However, that would be with an endless budget, but since I’m entering a giveaway for a wonderful gift card to help offset costs, being realistic, I would love to have a new sofa from PB. The Turner Square Arm Sofa with Chaise Sectional with Nailheads in Textured Twill Metal Grey looks terrific for our family :)

I would love to have Rick Atkinson over for dinner. He’s the author of the book The Long Gray Line. Just over 24 years ago (January 1991), I picked up the paperback at a book store on a whim … I liked the cover. I had absolutely no connection to the military at the time and knew no one who attended West Point. I found the book to be incredibly well written and I read the entire book very quickly. Absolutely excellent. About a month later, feeling very patriotic, I decided to write a letter to a soldier deployed to Dessert Shield/Dessert Storm. Thinking I was just being nice, I didn’t expect a reply. Searching for something to talk about in my letter, I mentioned what I did for a living, recent movies I’d seen and the fact that I’d just finished reading The Long Gray Line. Apparently, the eventual recipient of my letter was not only a West Point graduate, but he also enjoyed the book. We began corresponding back and forth, and then the war quickly came to an end. I didn’t hear from him for about four months. One day out of the blue the phone rang and it was the soldier I had written to, letting me know he was in town, and asking me out to dinner to thank me for writing. Seventeen months later, we were married. This December, I’ll celebrate my 23rd wedding anniversary with my Gulf War pen pal, and I’d love to invite Mr. Atkinson over for dinner to offer my personal thanks. The one thing I’d love to own from the Pottery Barn website would be the Union Jack Flag Shadow Box. My husband and I just returned to the United States from a two year posting in the UK (my husband was working with the British Army). It was a fantastic two years and having the flag would be a great memento from our time there. Thank you!

I am in need of a new dining room table and chairs. 2 of our dining chairs have wobbly legs and could go any day now. I’ve been eyeing the boat wright extendable table paired with the Lorraine tufted arm chair at the head/foot of the table and perhaps the admiral chairs on the sides. I can just imagine all of the holiday meals we host at a table like that. Stunning!
I would love to have dinner with my best friends that live in LA (Ali, Kim, Nihan, Josh and Ebony). I moved back to the Midwest to finish school and get married. 2 kids later it’s been really hard finding time to make it out there to visit. The thought of a delicious dinner and drinks with my best friends around a stunning table makes my heart melt. That is what’d I’d wish for!

    2. I’d love to get the stag bar set. We were gifted the stag decanter as a wedding gift and it means so much to us because we met at Deer Valley so we made stags “our thing”. So now we want to get the stag glasses and the cocktail shaker… and maybe the bottle stopper. Who am I kidding? we love Stags, alive.

All of my fabulous family and friends would be in attendance, and we would set up tables all over my home. I’d have no restrictions on how many were invited, because there is always room at my table. Eating, drinking, laughing, music and talking, I could finally enjoy myself with someone else taking over the brunt of the work. Since I have overflow guests it would be lovely to open up the back door and extend the party to the patio. What I would give to just have one day- one dinner to be with her again!!She passed away in 2003 she is not famous or world known but she was a charmer -a classy woman – her definition of a party was one guest or 500 guests – she could radiate a room and turn anything into a party!! I am 53 and she was taken from me when I really ‘needed my mom’ I would love to ask for guidance on life’s many challenges – I would love to see her smile and hear her laugh- feel her positive energy – if it were a dinner party gosh she would charm everyone ! A classy woman with a huge heart – each and every guest would want to hear her many stories and feel her love in the room – they would go home with a hug from her and feeling they wished the night would never have ended but look back on the evening and feel it was the ‘best night ever’!!! She knew how to really each and everyone feel special!
The item I would die for from Pottery Barn’s catalog is the Bencheright Table
Gosh what I would give! If I won the 500 gift card I would apply towards table
I want a Farmhouse Table sooo bad!!- I just took a class to make a Farmhouse Table – very similar – ugh! What did I get my self into? 5 hrs at lumber store when teacher said 2 hrs to buy wood and supplies– I can’t even figure out how to change the drill bit! Sold my table and chairs – my kitchen dining area is empty until I get this done! – lumber is now sitting in my garage waiting for me!!Gosh what mess did I get myself into? This afternoon I did try putting pocket holes into one board and I screwed thru the front side of board – oh boy!!! I could cry!
Praying my husband or son can help me – this is a headache and stressful !
    Praying I get picked !

I’d invite my mom for a dinner party if I could. She passed away in May just before her 90th birthday. Something that always made her excited was being invited to my home for the holidays and she especially loved to be pampered during her stay in our guest bedroom & bath made extra comfortable with Pottery Barn linens, comforters & towels. But what she enjoyed more than anything were the special meals served in the dining room resplendent with chargers, dishes, linens and glassware from Pottery Barn as well. Thanksgiving dinner this year will boast a Windswept Leaves table runner and the Thanksgiving Sentiment appetizer plates if I win the gift certificate. Each will make the table special for my guests but would especially make mom smile.

It doesn’t even seem like he’s acting when he’s on his evening talk show. I don’t think there would be a dull moment. We would also have game night afterwards. I think a family dinner with family and laughing is the best evening I can think of!

It’s hard to pick on item from pottery barn! We just hung out television on the wall and we need a place to store the cable box, picture grams and such. I would love to have either Oprah or Barrack Obama over for dinner. Oprah because I love her history and admire where she came from and what she has become. Barrack because I am just fascinated with how such a decent, down to earth person can run such an amazing country and still remain humble and warm. He cares so much about the country and the people. I just want to know him on a personal level. To me that would be a great story to tell!

Oh, from the Pottery Barn website, I’d LOVE the Turner leather sectional. We so badly need a couch right now! We are currently sitting on a “leather” couch that has been duct-taped on pretty much most of the sitting surface to keep it together. Can’t exactly have Oprah or the President over with that in my family room!

It would be a blast! They both left huge impressions on our individual lives.
    2. A wool rug in rich reds – like the “Hanover Persian Rug” – 9 x 12 for our living room or bedroom. No question about it.

My husband and I are in the process of adopting and I would love to be able to sit down with my mom and get some advice for this next exciting (and terrifying) chapter in my life. How best to balance life with the addition of this new and most important role of mother? While I always feel her absence, it is during milestones such as this that I miss her most.

I would like to have my sister and her family over for a dinner party. She recently moved back to the United States from Germany. Her husband is in the US Army and for the past 3+ years he had been stationed in Germany. Although she traveled and toured so many beautiful Castles and Historical Buildings, which wouldn’t have been possible had they been stationed in the US; she is more than thrilled to be closer to family again. They are now stationed in KY and are living about 3 hours away. Which is like living next door, compared to living in Germany.
While she was away, she gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby girl and actually chose me to be her (Emma’s) Godmother. I am so grateful and proud of my sister and her husband for all of their accomplishments and adventures through life. I’d like to have her and her family over for a dinner party so we can celebrate them moving back home and get caught up on where we left off over 3 years ago.
I would love to have a Light Fox Faux Fur Throw from Pottery Barn! Looks both fancy and cozy. Perfect for curling up on the couch in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine this winter.

I’d love to have President and Mrs. Obama to my home for a dinner party. Why? Well, I’ve never met a President before and I’d love to hear his perspective on calmer things of life, marriage and family. I’d like to know their favorite foods and see their face on the presentation of a dinner party at an ordinary citizens home (I’m sure they’ve seen the most elegant). I’d just to talk about everyday life with them. I love white dinnerware so I’d love to have the Great White Square Dinnerware. Presentation is everything and this set will make a statement.

I would love to host a dinner party for mine and my husbands families. We just moved into our first home this week and would love a new dining room table from pottery barn. I received many beautiful pottery barn serving dishes as wedding gifts but need a table for my empty dining room!

ic I was having a dinner party, I think someone great to invite would be Robert Downey Jr. He is really such an incredible man of transformation and a truly talented actor who would bring so much fun to a room. I’d imagine my friends and family at the party would laugh all night with him. That’s what it’s all about after all…is laughter. Being able to gather together sharing old stories (or new) just being who you are with great company. I haven’t ever really been able to afford pottery barn but have been in love with everything they always have! Looking at the website with all the beautiful things they carry it is a really hard decision to pick just one thing. If I had to (which I do!) pick just one, I would say the Benchwright extendable table with the alfresco brown finish. I mean…what good is a dinner party without a table that can fit all your guests?! I’ve always dreamed of having a large dinner table that I could have all my family and friends at for holidays, birthdays and more. Now that I am a mom it is my turn to create family traditions and to me, the best way to do that is by all sitting together for dinner.

I wish I could have the chance to sit down with them and get to know them over food at a dinner party. I’d like to hear their stories of life in 1920’s-1940’s and bond with them as women.
My Pottery Barn fav: I’ve been lusting after a pair of the Irving Leather Recliners with Nailheads. They’d make my family room complete. A $500 GC would definitely help make my dreams a reality.

I would have my favorite author Shirley Jackson over for dinner because she had such a wickedly dark and brilliant mind to write “We Have Always Lived in the Castle” and “The Haunting of Hill House” (and is “The Lottery” not an early version of “The Hunger Games”?). With the gift card I would buy the “Concave Refraction Wall Art.” I’ve decorated my house from head to toe in Pottery Barn (Bedford office furniture, Hudson bedroom furniture, Brandon rugs), but I’ve had to stop short of the living room because my husband has put me on a temporary Pottery Barn ban AGAIN! :) This vibrant piece of art would be a great inspiration piece to start off my living room redo. And at $499 with a $500 Pottery Barn gift card, my husband would surely have to lift the ban over a penny.

I would love to have a dinner party with my former sorority sisters. An intimate dinner would allow us the opportunity to reconnect after spreading out across the country to pursue our dreams. Finding time to get two or three of us together hasn’t been too challenging over the years, but getting eight to ten of us around the same table has been impossible. It would be wonderful to relive the endless memories we created together at a table set like your showcase of the Ken Fulk for Pottery Barn Collection.

Looking through the Pottery Barn website, I would love to own the Adeline Crystal Rectangular Chandelier. This piece is both classic and modern. It could warm up an industrial loft, or bring a modern edge to a more traditional home. Meals hold life together, and it is important to create spaces that allow moments to be made at mealtime. The versatility of this piece is endless and I would love to see it travel with me through my life as I grow.

I would love to turn back the hands of time and have my grandmother over for dinner. She was a Home Economics major back in her college days. She taught me everything I know about setting a proper table for dinner parties and keeping a home. She worked in the Lamp & China Department back in the 1950’s at DH Holmes on Canal in New Orleans. She caught the streetcar from St. Charles Ave to Canal for her work day. They wore the most stylish, conservative, designed clothing back then. She wouldn’t think of going to work without her hat and gloves. All the ladies wore pantyhose and had the greatest costume jewelry. Tables were set for meals and times were so much more simpler. If I could own 1 thing from the Pottery Barn website it would be CLARISSA CRYSTAL DROP ROUND CHANDELIER. The CLARISSA line reminds me of the chandelier my grandparents had in their formal dining room. Those were the days of kick ball, acorn pies, and selling fresh vegetables at the end of their driveway. Thank you for this giveaway and the opportunity for me to reminisce a bit.

What I really need from Pottery Barn is a Pearce Upholstered 4 Piece Chaise Sectional with Wedge to replace the old piece of junk that is currently there so that my children and I can start enjoying the living room once again.

We’ve always had strangers come by and ask for help for different things because people know we will help them, but also would love to have our children and our family here for dinner. We’ve never had a real bed, lol, and I believe the marriage bed is sacred. I LOVE the Branford bed. It’s so beautiful❤️

The one item from Pottery Barn I would love to own is the leather Manhattan arm chair and matching ottoman. This is the one piece of furniture that would complete our living room and pull everything together beautifully. . . thanks to the expertise advise of Pottery Barn’s design services!

I would love to have my neighbors over for dinner. I realize that may sound like a simple response and and easy thing to do, but life is complicated and is not always that easy. Growing up my best friends were my neighbors. We did life together, but as children grow into adults our lives get busier, we compare, and we lose sight of loving our neighbors regardless of where they come from or what they are going through. I long to connect with my neighbors, and create a safe place as I feed them around the dinner table. If I received the $500, I would love to put it towards a new sofa. I enjoy having people over, but we continually run out of space with one couch and a chair. A love seat or a sectional would be a dream come true! Thank you!

There’s nothing better than sitting down to dinner with the people you love. If I could pick anyone to have dinner wish, I would choose to have dinner with both sets of my grandparents. They both lived in Poland and growing up, I would spend my summers visiting them. They have since passed and I miss them dearly. I would love a chance to hear their stories one more time! Since my grandparents grew up with animals on their farms, something my grandparents and I shared was our love of animals. This is why I would choose Ken Fulk’s Retriever Table Lamp Base as the perfect accent to our home. It is not only beautiful but playful (just like my sweet grandmother)!
