Lovely video! I’m planning a small backyard party with a fire and smores next month and thinking about fun lighting and seating options :)

  • Reply Nada August 26, 2016 at 5:04 pm

My perfect party would be on a nice warm summer evening outside on our balcony with our friends. Creating a good atmosphere with lights and candles. About the video I especially liked the ideas with flowers and the hanging plants on the wall

  • Reply Jennifer Rose August 26, 2016 at 5:31 pm

I LOVED the trailer; especially the music. My perfect party would have lots of friends and family. I am dreaming of doing an Italian themed dinner party reminiscent of the ones my grandmother used to host. She decorated with antique Italian linens and tableware and fresh flowers. Even if I don’t win, I look forward to getting my hands on this book!

  • Reply Victoria August 26, 2016 at 8:23 pm

Wow, beautiful video! The music suits the aesthetic so well! I love how you presented how to draw ideas from the book and use them to create a lovely party.

I imagine the perfect party at home taking place on the patio with stringed lights, an eclectic mix of colourful antique dishes and silverware, candles and wildflowers, and a delicious dinner with friends.

I can’t wait till the book comes out!

    Hi Holly,
today I was looking at amazon for your new book, but I cannot “look inside”, so I am happy to have a litlle impression in your beautiful video, which is great, I love the country elements in it. My perfect party is definitely a party at home with friends for teatime!
Love to win a one copy,
    Tinka

My idea of perfect party at home would be an outdoor one. Under the big trees of our yard with the roses in full bloom, a big wooden table enough to fit all of our friends and a lot of starter dishes :) to munch on until the main dish is prepared. Oh and please, please do let me add the luxury of a helping lady managing all of our friends for me to be calm enough to enjoy them :)

Beautiful video, I am currently planning my baby shower (yes I am a control freak) and have been looking for inspiration all over the net as I didn’t want a baby decorated party and went for a rustic garden theme…. With the baby now due, we will have lots of parties coming and I love to always add a bit of ‘style’ even if it is a kids party….. This book will become my party bible!!!!

  • Reply Becky Lefebvre August 26, 2016 at 10:40 pm

WOW I just watched the video and I love the fact that you bring nature elements into the decor! Its makes it sooo much prettier and welcoming! My perfect would be in my parents big garden with my friends and family with lots of hanging flowers and plants, string lights and loads of different homemade juices and cakes!!

  • Reply Julie Davies August 26, 2016 at 11:58 pm

My perfect party would be at “cousins weekend” – I like the idea of making a wall hanging with greenery.

  • Reply Bee August 27, 2016 at 12:26 am

I’m still in a summer mood so my perfect party right now would be an outdoor gathering. Summer fruits spread out on a tray, ice cold drinks in the pitchers, and fresh salads and small bites on platters atop a long wooden table. I see string lights hung up on a tree and paper lanterns swinging gently with the passing breeze. And flowers. Lots of flowers. Now I just need to live in a place that has a yard! As for the video, I like the music and the preview of the different aspects of what we can expect from the book (food, decorations, flowers). I’m also excited about the styling and photography of the book!

  • Reply Danielle S August 27, 2016 at 3:58 am

I imagine the perfect party at home is intimate and with my closest friends. Lots of laughter and great food. I love the video, the music is perfect for it and the imagery was beautiful and serene!

  • Reply Elena August 27, 2016 at 11:38 am

I have already pre ordered your book so I can wait for it to arrive. The video is so inspiring and the music so nice and it seems the ideas in the book are very easy to put in practice, focusing on the simple things we have at hand as oposed to posh expensive decor. My idea of a perfect party is one outdoors, picnic style with no fuss food and good wine, gathering just a couple of close friends and family.

  • Reply Mira August 27, 2016 at 3:00 pm

This video makes me want to plan an outdoor party! All I need are lots of candles, fresh flowers, homemade food and beverages and off course happy friends! 🙃🌿🙃

  • Reply Teresa Kaufhold August 27, 2016 at 4:03 pm

I love the idea of using “found” nature items in so much of the decorating. I also love the idea of creating a beautiful setting but not Worrying about perfection! I need to work on that! Lovely book!

  • Reply masperle August 27, 2016 at 4:07 pm

Wonderful video! Love seeing parties being put together with so much thoughtfulness. My perfect party at home involves lots of planning and coming up with a fun cocktail to start the party. Good friends and delicious food top off a wonderful night. I think your book will be a huge hit!

  • Reply ConfettiStyle August 27, 2016 at 4:08 pm

My perfect party would be an early fall, outdoor setting bringing together my girlfriends for an evening of fun and inspiration. I’d decorated with a mix of fall colored plaid decor and pops of brass. I’d place large bouquets of sunflowers and seeded eucalyptus down the center of the table and accent each place setting with a beautiful teacup for my guest to take home. And of course I’d include a fun bar filled with wines, mulled cider and fresh mint to garnish the beverages.
I loved the video and how it shows that simple elements can be pulled together to create a beautifully elegant table setting. I’d love to win a copy of the book and use it to inspire my fall and holiday parties.

  • Reply Jomaine August 27, 2016 at 7:24 pm

Love the art direction of the entire video! Makes me want to continue watching for a very long time.

Would be amazing to have this book as an inspiration book for the upcoming wedding ;) Always had a crafty side. Perfect occasion to explore!

  • Reply Melissa AuClair August 27, 2016 at 10:18 pm

What a fun video! I loved the way you incorporate the greenery and flowers into the food, the decor and the table top- so pretty! My favorite party is a book club with a group of girlfriends. We don’t always talk much about the book, but the food, the laughter, the endless talking- always so memorable!

  • Reply Micheile August 28, 2016 at 2:50 am

My perfect decorated party would be here in our new home/garden. With friends + family. My daughter and I love throwing parties. It’s all about the details. We recently made floral bunting! Something I’ve wanted to try for ages!

I’m thinking this book would be an additional inspiration source to our already creative minds!

The presentation is lovely. I’m looking forward to the real thing.

    Cheers,
    Micheile

The music was just perfect! Though, I’m dying for some fresh blueberries now….

We have a backyard, a garden and a patio now, so the ideal party is outside in the lovely early fall weather with lots of herbs and veggies straight from the vine. I’m thinking brunch with home grown spinach-herb quiche and fresh tomato bloody marys!

  • Reply Amelia Yetter August 28, 2016 at 3:46 am

My perfect party would be simple, organic and clean like the video. Is that just a dream? Video shows how elegant simplicity can be. Peaceful elements, where the guests shine. Photogenic!

I loved that hanging leaf backdrop from the video. I think for the perfect party, the environment is really important. Decorating with greenery is always a great idea!

  • Reply Libby Boyle August 28, 2016 at 6:01 am

Friends, family, champagne, beautiful linen, fairy lights, quiet music, a cool breeze and food to share. The perfect party. Ahhhh.

  • Reply Laura Mah August 28, 2016 at 11:40 am

Perfect party for me is one where everyone is relaxed, kids have a place to enjoy and be kids, and the food is delish. The video was really pretty, I loved the little details, those are the things I love about planning a party too – the little things!

My perfect party would be an outdoor gathering with friends at night with lots of party lights, wild flower arrangements, great finger foods and fruity drinks. The video gave a nice overview of what to expect in the book, high quality recording and music was a very nice touch.

Congratulations on releasing your book! The video is brilliant, and you’re right the music is beautiful! The thing I liked most about the video is how it demonstrates bringing nature indoors for an all year round “garden party.” You show that it doesn’t have to be spring or summer to enjoy a party or the need to have a garden to enjoy one!
This year I would like to celebrate Christmas with friends and family in our new home. I’ll put out a big spread of traditional Christmas goodies with a few home cooked recipes as well as some common favourites – pulled pork mini baguettes, turkey sandwiches, stuffing balls, sausage rolls, mini Christmas puddings and a sponge cake decorated with Christmas berries and sprigs of holly. Homemade mulled wine will be flowing aplenty! Drawing inspiration from the video, I’d use holly, pine cones, dried twigs and pretty fabric to create plate decorations. I also love fresh flowers in the home so I would decorate the house with handmade bouquets and wreaths made with holly, pine cones, chrysanthemums, red roses, oriental lilies and poinsettias. I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year!

Wonderful video and book. In November is my husbands birthday. He is always al little bit sad, that its not in summer. So I will try to bring the summer to his party. I think the book could help me!

  • Reply Kellee M Robinson August 29, 2016 at 7:08 pm

I love the video! Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of the book. I do the same thing as the actress..look through my books & tear sheets for ideas. My perfect party at home is a girls night in with wine, small plates and lounge background music. Good music is critical. Everyone is sitting on comfy sofas and chairs sharing good memories and laughs.

Superb video! I got more curious to read your book. My perfect party would be a simple barbeque in the backyard with some old friends. I love them all.

Wow – so pretty. I love how much nature and natural elements are present in the video.

I have a rooftop terrace in the city … my perfect party at home would include (finally) bring lots of plants … olive and citrus trees, upto to the rooftop and LOTS of fairy lights. My fabulous family and friends from all over would of course also be the ingredients for a perfect party at home.

  • Reply Debbie Kelly August 30, 2016 at 11:36 pm

What a lovely video! I’m a girly girl who loves flowers, so bringing the floral elements indoors really appealed to me. My idea of a perfect party would be an outdoor party in a large backyard decorated with a shabby chic vibe – soft pastel colors of mint blue white & pink with faded floral linen tablecloths & gardens of colorful roses & white fairy lights & chandeliers hanging in the trees, with tee pees & large floor pillows strewn about the backyard (& of course tables & chairs for those who prefer not to sit on the ground 😊). The tables would be decorated with more pretty flowers & delicious foods & desserts of macarons & cakes frosted in pink & white & blue with sprinkles & edible confetti & fruits of melons & berries & grapes. It would be a party filled with love & laughter!

Congratulations on the release! The book is simply gorgeous. I’ve been trying to incorporate Western styles of decorating parties to my Asian roots. Friends and family love it but sometimes the oldies don’t. They ask why be so fussy for a family gathering at the dining table? Haha, you know, us Asians who just sit down, eat and then wander off. The video and the sneak peek of the content of the book was just perfect. It reminded me that having the perfect party is not just about impressing the guests but having enough energy to prepare for the party and to enjoy the party itself. Minimal fuss and maximum fun. The simplicity of the book trailer and the background music was good and in theme with the the word simple in the book title. I’m now planning the next gathering with my friends. A garden party in the front yard with my grandma’s flowers around us.

Wow! As a novice to the decorating world I am constantly in awe of the beauty that can be created with such simple and natural elements. Thank you for the beautiful images (and music) from both your video and book. They are both so beautiful and I love the use of plant and flower cuttings, especially on the cake – something I’m going to try at my next party. Congratulations on this release – a beautiful book for the eyes, heart and soul.
