Liberty Wall Paint Collection

You know all about my ongoing obsession with Liberty fabrics but did you know that their is also an entire Liberty paint collection? Oh yes. Meet Liberty paint from Colour & Paint in the UK. I really love the colors in this collection and needless to say, the paint palette expertly matches their print colorways for the perfect interior mix. In love! And I would venture to try these paints off the walls too so on a cabinet, mantle surround, trimwork around or inside of a door or door frame or to add new life to old wooden kitchen cupboards or shelves in a townhouse or country home. Ah.

These paints are available in four color stories: Mineral, Garden, Foliage and Wildflower with at least 35 colors that I could count. The Foliage collection is definitely my favorite closely followed by Mineral since I love those muddy neutrals. Beige is far from boring if you know how to expertly mix colors, textures and materials – you can create magic.

And for those of you who love Liberty, you have to catch these craft projects that my dear friend Sania Pell directed and styled for the Liberty Craft Blog last year along with the photography of Joanna Henderson – perfect for the season! Here is the blog post on the Liberty blog with full details. Too good to not use and love this year, too. Look at these….

Today the Christmas markets began in my city and we went with little Aidan and he smiled big as we strolled through the first part of them. We’ll go for the second half tomorrow with his cousin, aunt and uncle. It’s such a magical time of the year in Germany – I just love it! To all of my friends in the states, enjoy Thanksgiving and eat some Turkey and stuffing for me!

Jessica Zoob Fabrics + Wallcoverings For Romo Black Edition

Contemporary, joyful elegant. Those are the best words to describe this gorgeous collaboration between English painter, Jessica Zoob, and textile design firm, Romo Black Edition. I stumbled across her fabrics and cushions thanks to Michael Berger at local antiques dealer Galerie Bongartz – a favorite shop in Hannover with the most gorgeous antiques from Europe expertly curated and on display for purchase. What originally lured me into Galerie Bongartz several years ago was a stunning vintage disco ball hanging near to their entrance – they won’t sell it (or else I would already have it in my home!) but after inquiring about the disco ball, I walked around the shop and fell in love with so many pieces – my current passion is their assortment of convex mirrors.

Fast forward to a month ago or so, when I visited the shop again and Mr. Berger so nicely showed me the most gorgeous cushions, they looked like mini paintings, by Jessica Zoob. Her digitally printed linens, velvets and wallcoverings are simply stunning. Maybe not all together in one space, but definitely scattered here and there throughout a bedroom, living room or entry space. I imagine a solid velvet sofa in a favorite color with a few of her cushions or a big white sofa (like the Ghost from designer Paola Navone) with cushions and perhaps linen panels on the windows.

In this post, I’ve included images of her work and a video with Jessica speaking about her line and inspirations below.

I also had a chance to flip through the Romo for Jessica Zoob wallcoverings and textiles book while there and fell in love with the gorgeous yardage of available textiles in which you could transform your home into a sumptuous painterly oasis. The moment I saw her work I thought of my visits to ABC Carpet & Home and how her work would fit in beautifully in their furniture showroom. I would love to own a few cushions for my living room so I may go back to Galerie Bongartz and indulge a little.

About the artist: Contemporary impressionist painter Jessica Zoob trained at Central School of Art and Nottingham University. She exhibits her work regularly both in the UK and worldwide. Zoob’s paintings create bright new worlds rich in imagination yet gently infused by emotion. Working in collaboration with Romo Black Edition her emotionally charged paintings have translated beautifully onto fabrics, wallcoverings and cushions. This joyous collection includes intricately printed fine linens, striking panels, exquisite velvets, dramatic wallcoverings and divine cushions.

And if you think the linen is gorgeous, you should see these fabrics in velvet – I nearly fainted!

Good Design by Lassen

Have you ever played “Spot the ____” when you look at blogs, on Pinterest, or in deco mags? Oh my god, try it sometimes, it’s such a riot! Like try “Beni Ourain Rugs” or “Jonathan Adler pottery”, “Eames chairs” or “Tulip Tables”! Trust me, it’s addictive. One thing you’ll see in almost every Danish home mag, and you can definitely play this game when you flip through one, is “Spot the Kubus 4!”. I swear almost every Danish home has the iconic Kubus 4 candle holder from by Lassen. And now, the matching bowls (I want!) as seen in the window below… For fruit, for plants, for your keys, etc.

I was gifted by a German PR company with a gorgeous copper one after Aidan was born (what a seriously cool baby gift!) and I’ve used at every dinner party or cake and coffee party I’ve hosted since and I’m not even Danish – I just love it! Another Danish trend that could be part of your Spot The… game are boxes stacked and used to store or display things. It seems everyone is making them now and I love the variations on the design by company. For instance, by Lassen has a great collection of them called Frame that have a black outline and come with the option of a black metal base. I find this look very, very cool. Here is the Kubus 4 I was talking about that is available in black, white, copper and some other colors. I just love it. This is my copper one shown in my dining / work studio space.

And more furniture and decorating items from by Lassen below… Like these great stools. And there are those Kubus candle holders again, this time in white and the matching Kubus bowls, too.

They also have this wallpaper pattern in 3 different colorways, which is very nice…

So let me ask you, when you are looking at interior spaces, do you ever spot things that seem to be in everyone’s home? If so, what is it? I’d love to know!
