12 Beautiful + Easy Easter Decor Ideas

It’s nearly Easter! And okay, this year it won’t be like any of the others because we’re limited in many ways… BUT we can still make it special and prepare a lovely meal and tabletop for our family. We can also share our creation online, maybe on our blogs, Insta, Pinterest… To feel a bit more inspired and to inspire others with our creative work!

  1. Egg Place Settings

Maybe instead of the names of guests, you can have these scattered across the table with inspiring words of hope and happiness inside for your family to feel encouraged by. Perhaps words that express the things you are thankful for in life?

2. Branches with eggs

You can collect fallen branches from your backyard or order them online, if your flower shops are not open at this time. On them, you can hang pretty eggs that you’ve painted with watercolors.

3. Cakes with eggs (choco)

I LOVE this idea and I do it each year now, it’s like my signature cake for Easter to place chocolate eggs on top of my buttercream frosted cake. Do you like this idea to? The best part is, it’s so easy and looks (and tastes) great!

4. Scandi Easter Style

This is so pretty and relaxed with candlelight, loads of white, pale yellow champagne in glasses and hints of green. It’s so Scandinavian and natural and definitely not a hard look to pull off so give this a try if you want to host a beautiful Easter with your family that feels festive without going over the top.

5. Easter Wall Hanging

For a wall hanging like this one, take one long branch, attach a string to both ends and tie twigs of different lengths onto the branch. Then, attach Easter eggs or other pendants of your choice to the bottom. Finally, add voluminous pieces like ranunculus and dried hydrangea. Lovely and easy - you can find lots of these things in the forest or backyard.

6. Ribbon wrapped napkins

Locate your craft supplies and tie simple linen napkins with ribbons in pretty colors. They can all be different - grosgrain, velvet, silk, thin, fat, patterned… You can even tuck in sprigs of flowers (faux, dried, fresh) or clippings of green from the balcony or garden.

7. One big, delicious cake!

Do you have a signature cake?

If not, try this Pistachio Cake from Sallys Baking Addiction. It’s delicious and comes highly recommended.

If chocolate is your thing, try this Easter Hazelnut Torte with Chocolate Orange Buttercream.

If you love Vanilla, here is the best Vanilla Bean cake from Style Sweet that you can top with this yummy Blood Orange Buttercream frosting from Not Without Salt.

If you love coffee… The Easter cake you see above consists of three layers of coffee-sponge-cake (just add some cold, strong Espresso to your fave sponge cake recipe), mascarpone cream with finely chopped coffee-flavored dark chocolate and all kinds of chocolate Easter eggs.

8. Hand-Painted Eggs

I have been seeing so many pretty ways to decorate eggs lately. From simple dips in vegetable dyes to using rub on tattoos as décor motifs. I decided to go for a more painterly approach. I did the typical poking of the eggshell on each side, as well as poking the yoke to break it and then blowing out the inside into a bowl (lots of scrambled eggs the other morning). I used Martha Stewart acrylic craft paints from Michael’s to dab on my various floral and confetti patterns. It was so much fun to decorate them!

9. Black + White Easter

Go clean, minimalist and Danish this Easter. I love this look, so simple and just gorgeous. I love this look because it’s easy to pull off and allows the food and flowering branches to really pop.

10. Single Branch Wall Hanging

Also EASY and effective! A simple flowering branch on the wall with some eggs hanging from it, paper eggs, eggs the kids make, whatever you fancy!

11. Eggs with wreaths

This is a super simple and adorable decor idea! Let your soft-boiled Easter Brunch eggs wear mini wreaths that you can make using flowers with flexible stems, like these wax flowers in pink. Tie the wreaths with transparent string.

12. Presentation is Everything!

It’s true! You can take the simplest cake and make it look gorgeous with the addition of something as simple as a partial fresh-flower frame or some confetti sprinkled around. You can even use a punch shaped like a rabbit or egg to make confetti in solid colors or using paper with patterns. Flowers can be fresh, paper, or even silk mixed with fresh (often you can’t tell when they are mixed!).

I hope that you’ve enjoyed these 12 beautiful Easter looks for your dining room this year. If you use any of them, please tag with #mydecor8 on Instagram and @decor8 so I can see them and share my favorites on my Insta Stories.

I’d like to also thank Leslie Shewring from Vancouver Island and Anke Illner from Wiesbaden, Germany for pulling together these beautiful ideas from previous columns here on decor8. These ladies are absolutely amazing crafters and makers, I’m so impressed and inspired by their work.

Much love,
