I love quotes, don’t you? I find quick bites of positivity or quirk a bit uplifting — even the tongue in cheek quotes are fun because they often say what many of us lack the courage to. This is one I particular like this week because it’s so true, right!?  I thought I’d share some quotes that I’ve been collecting over the past few weeks though I have tons more pinned here although some of those are definitely cheeky and not so G rated so viewer beware! These below are tame and good thoughts so enjoy them today as you go about your business…

I always feel a surge of energy whenever I visit the website of Danish designer Rie Elise Larsen. Her work fills me with ideas and I always feel more creative whenever I visit her site for a browse. It’s fun to see what she’s up to and her current collection is just gorgeous. I love the zing of fresh green, neon pink, hot orange and the other crisp brights. I also like seeing pastels with graphic black and white. Perfection!

I found a video (below) of this talented lady showing how to make a fun ‘Julekugler’.

I love watching people make things, don’t you? I’m a huge fan of her work and a customer, I have some lamps, cloth cords and ornaments from her that I purchased at local shop Sommerfugl owned by my good friend Daniela. Isn’t Rie Elise Larsen such an inspiring creator? I think so!

I’ve talked about Sweet William before since I’ve been a fan for quite awhile… I guess that’s why I perked up when I noticed a bit of a new direction in their recent work and felt incredibly inspired by it! I admire designers and artists who experiment outside of their comfort zone (and of that of their clients) and like this fresh look into the creative mind of Sweet William. They’re not changing their overall aesthetic at all, but they did just add-in a couple of new archival quality prints of paintings that are a bit different from all of their other things. And I like it…

I think it is daring and needed (for our own sanity!) at times to break things up. What do you think? Most artist reps out there would frown on my opinion and I can see why as one does need to be consistent and marketable with their vision and work to stay afloat, BUT I still applaud it when creatives allow themselves space and freedom to experiment and evolve.

When money enters the room, we tend to stick to creating what sells and forget the fact that we began as a creator, as an artist, and that we owe it to ourselves to let our passion and vision come before money and fame. I am such a believer in this.
