Free Stuff Alert! Would you like to win a calendar from JHill Design? I can’t believe we’re already thinking about the new year, but since so many have asked recently if I’d pull together another calendar round up (see 2007 round up here) I figure why not – it’s fun! So the ’08 Calendar Round Up will be posted later this Fall. This is where you come in…
If you plan to sell calendars for ’08 and you’d like to be considered for this round up, please send me clear images, a link to where they can be purchased online, and the price. I will consider all submissions, so please send them to decor8blog AT yahoo DOT com. The deadline is October 31st. Of course, I’ll come up with many of my own finds as always, so together we should have a beautiful selection of calendars for the new year.
Now onto the free stuff. I’ll select two readers a prize and entry is easy – Leave a comment (only 1 per person) below listing 5 things that you plan to accomplish in ’08 that are helping/supporting others. You could win either the ’08 desk calendar from JHill Design or the ’08 Wall Calendar*. A special thanks to Jennifer for sponsoring this fun mini giveaway. And please… leave your first name and email address in your comment so that if you win, I can contact you. Thanks!
*Calendars will not ship until late November when I’m back in the states. Thank you!

Last minute change of plans! I have to run out for the afternoon on a project, so I won’t be near a computer at 4pm to post the results – so here are the winners of the decor8/Amy Butler Mood Board Contest for all the early birds tuning in. Drum roll please…
1st place: Studio Space by Starlee Matz (47.8% response)
If you’re one of the winners, your 5 Amy Butler patterns will ship on Monday, June 25th. Please email me with your complete name and address so I can get them out to you promptly.
I’d like to thank Amy Butler for sponsoring this contest, and for all of the wonderful entries, it was inspiring for me to see all the designs of so many talented readers of this blog. :)
And since we all love surprises… I have a few extra patterns that I’d like to give away. I’ll randomly select a few winners based on your replies to this post. Here’s the topic: “What makes a house a home”. You can go as deep as you’d like on this one. I really want to hear some unique perspectives on this, so if you’d like to take part, please comment below. This contest will only run for today ONLY. Since I’ll be away from my desk until tonight, none of the responses will be shown below until after 6pm EST. I think this keeps it fair, as no one can peek at the comments of others for “help” on this. :) Your comment below will be approved and posted on the blog after 6pm. I’ll reveal the winners in the comments section tomorrow, Saturday, June 23rd. Have fun.
What makes a house a home to you?
I have 3 copies of Get a Hobby! 101 All-Consuming Diversions for Any Lifestyle by Tina Barseghian to give away this week. I own the book and love it because it turned me on to many new ideas that I hadn’t thought about before, a few I plan to try. I’d love to share this book with you, so if you’d like one, here’s how to enter…
Rules: To enter, Simply comment below and tell us, if money and time were no object and you could have any hobby in the world, what would it be? Only ONE dream hobby and only one entry per person. In order to qualify, you’ll need to include one of the following below your answer: 1) your blog address 2) email address, or 3) your website address. Please post your email address like this: Jane AT yahoo DOT com to avoid spam freaks. If you do not include a place where we can contact you, you will not be entered in the contest, so make sure you include a link of some kind. Thanks!
How winners will be determined: I’ll read through the comments that you leave below and the most bizarre and unique answers will be grouped into my top ten list. I’ll then post the top ten list on Saturday morning, May 5th and I’ll reveal the 3 that I selected as favorites. I’ll also email the winners to notify them. Winners: At that time, you’ll need to reveal your full name and mailing address so I can mail the book to you. It doesn’t matter where you live, the contest is open to anyone, and I’ll pay for the postage on it, so it’s 100% free all the way!
[UPDATE: 5/1, The publisher, Harper Collins, was so impressed by the response that they are giving us additional copies of the book so we’ll have more than 3 winners! Yay! Keep the entries coming, this is fun!]
