It’s time to select your four favorites out of our 30 finalists. If you’re new to reading this blog, Amy Butler is sponsoring a contest asking readers to submit a mood board and 30 were selected and displayed here on decor8 over the past week. It’s now time to vote for the final four – all of whom will be awarded with 5 patterns from Amy Butler valued at $65. To view all entries in detail, here’s a mini slideshow on flickr.

This is the last entry! Well, the last one that I will post. There are many more, but some of the links were dead, images not sharp enough or too small, not enough information, etc. We need to get back to the regularly scheduled program here on decor8, so the next post about this contest will contain a link that will take you to a short survey where you’ll be asked to vote for your favorite four. Wrapping up this contest today is a lakeside retreat from Vermont-based Rachel Stewart that looks like absolute getaway perfection to me.
Name: Rachel Stewart
Occupation: Color Designer/Graphic Designer
Theme: Green Mountain Lakeside Retreat
Inspiration: Lately I am OBSESSED with homes, floorplans, furniture, decorating etc. I knew immediately what I wanted to create for this mood board: my dream lake house using Lake Champlain and Vermont as my inspiration. Every night I come down the stairs at work and see the beautiful blue green sky and the mountains across the lovely lake. What a dream to have a home on the lake and be able to see that view everyday. Since moving here to Vermont I have noticed my taste change as I am inspired by new cultures and people. It is very earthy and natural here. People are more aware of the environment and willing to change their life styles even if it means that they are maybe not as comfortable (like riding a bike in the rain or paying more for organic heathly local produce). I love the “hippy” styles that the girls sport and the outdoor lifestyle of everyone. I have to admit it is not really me though, so I decided to create the board with a style that would fit in Vermont and still have my personality. Hope it inspires others as well! Thanks Amy Butler for motivating me to be creative and decor8 for pulling it together.
Thank you for entering the decor8/Amy Butler mood board contest, Rachel.
Okay everyone – time to start voting… Get ready, I’ll post the survey monkey link soon!

Marrakesh, Tangier, Casablanca… If you dream of walking amidst peacocks in an olive grove, browsing magical bazaars, or soaking in an bath surrounded by gorgeous Moorish mosaic tiles as you listen to the songs of birds outside of your window, Morocco may be the ideal travel destination for you. Escape with Megan today as she takes you there.
Name: Megan Jones
Occupation: Educational Researcher
Location: York, England
Theme: Moroccan desert blues
Inspiration: It started with a tile, that I picked up on a trip to Morocco, and with some bowls. But I think the underlying theme is comfort and luxury with lots of scented bathing! I like the idea of a cool airy space in a scorched landscape – but remembering how cold it gets in the winter. Although ideally this room would be in Morocco, I think it could work in any interior as long as it’s kept modern and fresh with lots of jewel-like colours in the accessories – but not too much clutter.
Thank you for entering the decor8/Amy Butler mood board contest, Megan.
