I have two posts to dedicate today to one of the best interiors photographers in the world, Debi Treloar. Debi has photographed both of my books, Decorate and Decorate Workshop (which releases in the UK in mere days), and working with her on both projects was always a joy. From the first shot which was in Sweden back in April 2010, until our last shoot, which was in my home in April 2012, we had a nice two years working together on two books and I’m so proud that she was part of both projects.
Debi is a breeze to work with and always so professional but in a laid back way, so even though she knows what she’s doing, she is still quite chill in the process which makes it nice for those working around her as time with Debi doesn’t feel stressful or over-bearing. It’s nice to work with someone at the top of their field who has such patience and charm. In this post, you can see some pics of Debi’s beautiful home which radiates her personality perfectly. She rents her home out as a location space (more pics here) via Light Locations for shoots but primarily, this is where she lives with her lovely family. I think she decorates with soul and so much joy and I just love her style – it is so inspiring to see how she uses color and pattern, too. No fear! Visiting Debi is always such a treat because her home is also always changing – she adds or takes away bits and makes it more charming each time. It’s always nice to see what she’s up to and she adores turquoise and pink and really embraces her inner girly, bohemian rock star and I think that’s way cool.
In my next post, I’ll share something else special and very dear to Debi, her new rental property that she leases out to stylish guests, blog readers and anyone else looking for a sweet little studio escape to stay in on their visit to London. I can’t wait to show you what she spent the summer working on – it’s lovely. Back in a moment!
While I’m working on the post, please check out her beautiful blog – Double Exposure.

Hello everyone! I have some very exciting news to share with you! This Wednesday, September 26th, I will be a guest on Martha Stewart Living Radio on Sirius Satellite (@martharadio) for the show Home Design with Kevin Sharkey from 5-6 pm EST and the best part is that it’s LIVE!
Kevin is the Senior Vice President and Executive Editorial Director, Decorating, and Executive Creative Director, Merchandising for Martha Stewart Living Omninedia, Inc. Again, this interview will air LIVE on Channel 110, so I will be able to take questions from listeners – that means YOU – so please tune in. :)
My butterflies are very active (this is huge!) but knowing you will listen in makes me feel worlds better because this is a pretty big deal – anything Martha-related has been a long time dream of mine as you can imagine – I’m also slightly terrified and intimidated by it all!
The show is not recorded but I’ll see if I can have someone record it for me although I cannot promise that will happen – so if you want to listen in, you have to jump onto Sirius radio channel 110 on September 26th from 5-6 PM EST for the Home Design with Kevin Sharkey.
NOTE: If you do not have Sirius access, just CLICK HERE and subscribe for a free 30 day trial so you can listen to me talk about blogging, my decorating ideas, breaking into book writing and more!
Just when you think you are the culture expert in your city you realize just how overblown your ego is and that you really need to stay on your game! I thought I knew everything that was going on in my city (typical city pride) until my friends at Anthology magazine in the faraway land of San Francisco sent me a tweet yesterday asking if I knew about Ladenlokal in Hannover, Germany (where I live) because they had put up a post about it. Ummm well… Instead of smugly replying, “But of course”, I slithered beneath my office chair because I had never heard of it in my life.
How did I miss this super cool looking fine foods shop that doubles as a cafe which is only a bike ride away? Am I working THAT hard in my office? This place is so extremely fresh looking, you simply mist check out these chalk illos from Pamela Rama too – how nice does this look?
I’m definitely hitting this place soon. And I love the idea of beautiful chalk illustrations on walls vs. the usual scribbling of grocery lists or kids marking them up in rainbow pastel colors. Very pretty and a great find Anthology!
These photos made me happy today because I love seeing how stylists decorate their homes and also how they change things up as their needs change and tastes evolve.
I found this delightful home on Irene’s beautiful blog and it belongs to interior stylist Emma Persson Lagerberg that was photographed by Petra Bindel and instantly remembered it but noticed immediately that a lot has changed since I last saw it. But first, isn’t this minty green haven so serene and lovely?
What a modern, soft application of pastels applied in a very grown up way – and edited so perfectly. You can see the entire apartment here but a glimpse below. It’s glorious beyond words. At the bottom of this post, you can see the way this space looked before Emma redecorated. It was equally gorgeous then, too.
It looks like Emma’s former dining room is now a kitchen/dining room combo and the lilac accents in the apartment have been replaced with more mint.
THEN & NOW – let’s have a little fun now and examine the details, shall we?
I spot the disco ball in the window of the living room now vs. in the center of the space, too. Glad they kept the disco ball, my favorite feature! What an incredible transformation. I spot a new sofa too. It’s looking a bit more elegant, don’t you think?
What do you think?
