Noa Noa For Spring

I can’t resist showing some of the colors that are part of the palette for Danish fashion brand Noa Noa for Spring 2011. Their shop around the corner from me never ceases to provide a spot for instant inspiration — I just walk in and enjoy being immersed in their dreamy world of cool colors and warm textures.

Seems they are right on the mark with their colors, at least according the Pantone Spring color forecast for this year. Yum. I’m looking forward to seeing how this translates into the world of interiors in the months to come.

You can allow Noa Noa fashion to inspire you to dream up a bedroom color scheme, some new pillows for your sofa, the wrapping paper that you’ll use to gift a friend, the outfit that you will wear to a lunch date with your honey…

Fashion Photographer Anna Malmberg

I recently heard about Swedish fashion photographer Anna Malmberg who currently lives in Paris… and I must share some lovely work from her portfolio with you on this snowy day. Poetic, flirty, dreamy, feminine… a little edgy.

Emerson Made

Hello and welcome to a new week of decor8ing and creative inspiration! :) How are you? I’m still unpacking but I’ve also been working a lot on a project for my students in Morocco since I fly to Marrakesh on Friday so I’m quite busy buzzing around trying to get everything finished in time for my flight! When I’m back from Morocco I’ll share with you what I made for them (with photos!) and I’ll also share lots of trip highlights too.

Emerson Made

What do these flowers have to do with Morocco? Well, I was looking for flowers to put in my hair for my upcoming trip because I have this idea to wear my long hair up since it’s warm in Marrakesh and I’d love to clip a big fabric flower on the side behind my ear… And I came across the beautiful Emerson Made site again and thought, “Oh yes, perfect.” See like this…

Emerson Made

Of course, flowers aren’t only for clipping in your hair! Gently resting on a set table is rather elegant too, don’t you think? In fact, wouldn’t it be fun to host a ladies lunch with the flowers posing as a centerpiece but when the meal is served everyone is invited to choose one to clip into their hair for a group photo? And then to keep as a memory of this fun time together? I just love personal, sweet gestures like this. I want to be invited to a party hosted by someone so thoughtful (and stylish!) don’t you!?

Perhaps I will try to make a flower pin for my hair (if there is time) before I leave or maybe I’ll just buy something in a nearby shop since I don’t have time to order from Emerson Made, but if you do then Emerson Made is your site for flowers to embellish your hair, shirt, table… These are all so lovely, aren’t they?

Rooms Inspired By Corsages

You can be inspired by so many different things from the wings of a bird to a corsage on your blouse! Ban.do is a small business that specializes in creating beautiful corsages and other decorative pieces to embellish your wardrobe — it’s exciting to peruse their website because you can always find something lovely but you also can find inspiration for your next decorating project! How so? Take inspiration from the colors, patterns and textures and translate those things into a room — it’s all about letting your imagination play and giving yourself the freedom to explore something new — who would have thought that a brooch pinned on a vintage dress could inspire a wall of plates? But it can.

Bando

These images above, paired with the corsages, were not inspired by work of ban.do — though I’ve paired them to appear as such. This is merely an example to support my point so that you get an idea as to exactly how this sort of thing works. Now it’s your turn. Here are some more lovely things from ban.do below. Perhaps you can use them to inspire a room in a your home now, or someday?

And a big P.S. — yes that model with the red hair is the lead singer Alison Sudol from A Fine Frenzy that I wrote about a few years ago after seeing her in concert. She is a doll, isn’t she?

Let your creativity run wild, inspiration is all around you if you pause for a moment to simply see it.

Alphabet Bags

I adore the new coin purses from Alphabet Bags, they are so sweet! Each has been screen printed with black ink onto natural white cotton so there is a vintage look to them, especially with the clasp! I also like the black trim and that each purse has been laminated to protect from stains and marks.

Wouldn’t the coin purses look cute displayed in a shadow box — you could have four boxes with four purses to spell something and mount them on the wall over your dressing table or dresser. That would be quirky and sweet! Alphabet bags has totes too as you can see above. Old Bag is my favorite – ha ha ha! Hayley & Lucas did such a sweet job on this collection — congrats you two!
