Author/stylist Anita Kaushal would like to offer decor8 readers a very exclusive discount as she is currently making room for a few new things in her online shop and would like to offer her current wares at a very special discount of 50% off for decor8 readers (click here and enter the password: decor8). Just a few exquisite things for us…
And in case you don’t know Anita and her book… here’s a visual introduction to her glamorous yet livable personal style… Please examine all of the fine details as you peruse these photographs. Which rooms appeal to you the most? Do you see any ideas that you’d like to use in your own living or work space?
Would you not love to own a dining room or work room like this with such beautifully tiled floors? This looks like the most beautiful home, doesn’t it? I love the architectural details, the light, those windows! Eek!
If you aren’t familiar with Anita’s work, she is the author of the beautiful FamilyLifeStyle Home book published by Thames & Hudson and she was a regular contributor at Cookie magazine before they (sadly) folded. Above, you can see some glimpses from the book. It’s simply gorgeous… I have a copy and could flip through it a hundred times over. I think the silver bathtub is amazing with the Moroccan wedding quilt laid out on the floor before it. I also love seeing the bubbles… it really calls out to the viewer doesn’t it?

The Graham and Green spring collection is now on their website and I sat here this morning looking through so many images of things that I would love to own! I also admire their styling as many online shops exist out there but those that make an effort to present their merchandise well are the shops that catch my eye the most. I think shopping for home items online is enhanced when you can view things in-situ, don’t you? Here are some pieces that I imagine would look beautiful in most of our homes. Do you spot any instant favorites? See anything that you can imagine owning and if so, where would you put it?
In the above photographs I find the bursts of color very refreshing and modern, don’t you?I also love seeing black with all of the white, that never grows old does it?

Whenever I’m in need of a little retail therapy, I turn to Cox & Cox. Well, to look anyway… I’ve not actually purchased a single thing from them ever and am not sure as to whether they’d ship outside of the UK or not but it’s their product photos that inspire me so much. Though after rounding up my 12 favorite things for this post, I found a few that I’m definitely inquiring about. Cox & Cox has many new and lovely offerings for spring and I’d like to share a few of my favorites, the first being this super fab three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle tree. I really, really adore this!
1::: 3D Jigsaw Tree
2::: Bird Hooks
3::: Lotus Tea Lights
5::: Number Candle Vases
7::: Round Platter
8::: Velvet Ribbon
9::: Birdsong CD
10::: Kiss Tapestry Kit
11::: Cookie Cutter Sets
12::: Velvet Pencil Case
If you do not plan to order from them then do what lots of us do — take inspiration from their arrangements, color combos and consider whether you have anything similar at home that you could arrange Cox & Cox style. That is how you can turn your inspirations into something real and original for your own home.

I read about the best new online shop today on Daily Candy called Gretel. Have you seen it? For those of you who haven’t, you’re in for a real treat. The website design and product photography is gorgeous, very sophisticated, fresh and young but beyond that, they have some of the most beautiful selections in a single shop, it’s lovingly curated and just fantastic. Gretel was founded last year by British interior stylist Abby Kellett who clearly had an eye for modern design.
I also like their store windows,”Just as a store changes its window displays, every season we will present our products in a new light. Welcome to Gretel’s Windows.”
