A huge thanks to Karen Young of Hammocks & High Tea for her email this morning announcing the launch of her new collection. Inspired by her South American background, her stationery of contemporary, tropical imagery is illustrated and screen printed by Miss Karen herself. Exotic florals are so hot right now, so I think her line launched at the perfect time.
The hibiscus and hammock cards are my faves, the hammock reminds me of all the times my parents took me to dinner at Litchfield Plantation in Pawleys Island growing up and how I’d linger over at the hammock and gift shop nearby, swinging on them when the sales lady wasn’t around. I always will love a huge hammock! When I went back to Litchfield Plantation in 1997 to see my childhood friend, Jake, get married, I wanted so badly to buy a hammock and when I return this summer, maybe I will this time. I hardly ever see them here in the northeast, at least not in Boston/New Hampshire where I spend most of my time. Nothing is more comfortable!
Anyway, thank you Karen for sharing your stationery with all of us! And for bringing back sweet, southern memories for me. :)

Blogger Nadejda from Pan-Dan does a killer job covering Italian design. Could be because she’s Italian living in Milan. I’ve been reading her blog for about 4 months now and always find things that just never seem to find there way to stores in the United States. And that’s okay, because if everything suddenly becomes available here, we lose a bit of the thrill of the hunt, don’t you think? Who wants to stumble upon tons of American products when in Europe, or vice versa?
Regardless, her website is full of gorgeousness, and this week, she is posting all about the Milan Design show. One item she highlights that caught my eye is this Bird lamp by Chen Hung-Ming, a designer from Taiwan currently living in Sweden, who exhibited this light in Milan this year. I can’t take my eyes off of it, it’s so unique and definitely something I would own. It’s so exciting to see innovative, fresh products like these take flight!

eBay never goes out of style — If it’s out there, it’s on eBay, and that’s no lie. I decided that, as hard as it is to share eBay gems, that I should start sharing more of my favorite sellers with you because I have over 200 that I highly suggest, many of which I’ve shopped myself. Today, I’m sharing “GreyGardens_Laguna Beach”.
These guys specialize in the ever popular Hollywood Regency decor (at least it’s popular here in the United States — is it popular in your part of the world?). Bookmark them if this style suits you, because their items are spectacular. Like this room divider. Imagine it as a headboard painted in your favorite color?

Color, color, color! Bold Missoni takes fashion to another level constantly, so why not the home? And with the stitch pattern being as fabulous as it is, how can you resist?
Neiman Marcus carries the Missoni collection, and although some of it is way out of my reach, the bedding is somewhat affordable, especially if you layer pieces in with budget finds from other stores. You can dress a bed using mostly finds elsewhere that are inexpensive, add a few Missoni shams and a throw at the foot of the bed, and you’ve given your bedroom a fashion makeover without purchasing 100% from this collection.
I do have one question though. Why are their candles priced between $275-375? Am I missing something here?
