Angus & Alison wrote in from Snowhome in York, UK today so let’s see what this little shop has to offer shall we? Snowhome is a wee little indie design and lighting shop with a focus on modern eclectic products that they feel decor8 readers may like. I agree! Angus and Alison will soon roll out their own collection of products this year so stay tuned for that.
I’m keen on the birds screenprint from English artist John Dilnot, the birdhouse cuckoo clock designed by Milan-based Pascal Tarabay (there are only a few so hurry!), and these quirky scrub brushes that look like dentures from German talent Jorg Hundertpfund. These things are a riot!

I’m signing off for the weekend and since I didn’t take today as a holiday with my husband, he has reminded me that I should exchange it for Monday since I do work for myself — I should afford myself the luxury of that! Plus tonight is date night so it’s time to take Thorsten out on the town. I think we’ll be hitting Banq in the South End tonight. I will be away from decor8 until Tuesday, March 25th so I’ll meet you back here then.

I’m happy to announce that my first Style piece for the Boston Globe’s Style & Arts section appeared in yesterday’s edition of the Globe (text version here).
If you’re local, I hope you had a chance to see it. If not, I wrote about flowers as a trend and featured 8 products (linked below) that I thought Bostonians would enjoy. If you’re not local, here are the items featured:
Guide: 1. Thicket Saffron bedding from Dwell Studio, 2. Dogwood ring available at Anthropologie, 3. Virginia Johnson Textiles, “Forest in Yellow”, 4. Flora sandals from J Crew, 5. Woodruff necklace by Prismera Design, 6. Botanist Flora tables by Orange 22 available at Design Public. 7. Flower mirror from Modern Dose, and 8. “The Camellia” print by Yumi Yumi’s Aline Yamada.

I gave my editor over at Real Simple some home design-related blogs to add to Simply Stated Home & Organizing under, “Blogs We Like”. She included a few that I read daily, so go check out who we’ve included. More will be added in the future, but it’s a start for now. I can already see a couple of the usual suspects (sorry!) missing so over the next few weeks more will be added.
If you are listed and would like to link to Simply Stated on your blogroll, please do. Here’s the link: http://simplystated.realsimple.com/home/.
If you’re not listed and you actively author a blog on a wide range of topics relating to home decorating and design that you’ve had for at least one year, please comment below so I can see about adding you in. It would be nice to include more great reads on the Simply Stated blogroll to point Real Simple readers to additional gems online. Thank you!
