Plaid Pony Vintage

Meatloaf, spam, and hamburger helper may no longer be on the menu, but it doesn’t mean we have to forget everything from our past. If you’re looking for a little flashback, click on over to Lara Long and her store, Plaid Pony Vintage. From clothing to housewares, Lara even carries these neat polaroid pictures for $50 each taken by her husband, also available as notecards, $18 for a pack of six.

Look at this stuff, is it not the best? Where’s Ward and June Clever anyway, and those days of domestic perfection? I actually owned these McDonald’s action series glasses… I was born in the 70’s, so I remember most of these things. By the way, is the yellow and white lamp and doxie pillow not the best? I love the shine on that lamp, although it’s plastic, it would look great on one of those white lacquered desks with a white shade, banded with a slim ribbon trim in a white/yellow chevron pattern, perhaps?

I hope you’ve been linking over to our blog of the week, Absolutely Beautiful Things. This lady is amazing, I adore her and her blog. She mentioned suzanis recently and I can’t believe I haven’t told you about them yet. I feel so guilty. They’re such a pleasure to behold, buy, showcase on your bed. Have you heard of them? If not, learn all about these treasures here from the experts. East Treasures, an eBay seller specializing in these gorgeous handmade embroidered textiles, has so many fabulous ones to offer and they’d be perfect on your bed.

eBay Seller to Watch: "GreyGardens_Laguna Beach"

eBay never goes out of style — If it’s out there, it’s on eBay, and that’s no lie. I decided that, as hard as it is to share eBay gems, that I should start sharing more of my favorite sellers with you because I have over 200 that I highly suggest, many of which I’ve shopped myself. Today, I’m sharing “GreyGardens_Laguna Beach”.

These guys specialize in the ever popular Hollywood Regency decor (at least it’s popular here in the United States — is it popular in your part of the world?). Bookmark them if this style suits you, because their items are spectacular. Like this room divider. Imagine it as a headboard painted in your favorite color?

*eBay Find* Dorothy Draper Style Dresser

This is such a cool eBay find from seller Mod Avenue (one of my faves), and I think with the right knobs, it would make a great accent piece. I just love the price– Buy It Now for $300 and it ships to your home straight out of Brooklyn. I love it because I had an entire bedroom set just like this growing up, only it had cane trim and was white.

If yellow isn’t for you, paint it your favorite color, it has such great lines and detail, and you can find knobs over at Anthropologie to dress it up to look totally girly, grown, ornate, tame, whatever you like – hardware can transform this piece into something unique just like you. Paint it in a few colors, outlining the details. Line the drawers with your favorite vintage wallpaper. Use it in the entry to store paperwork, bills, scarves, mittens, keys… Or in the more common places, like a walk-in closet, bedroom, living room, etc. It’s so much fun to find pieces like this on eBay, such a great bargain and so much potential to perk it up and have fun.
