Poor little Alice, so bored at the family picnic that she followed a white rabbit down a hole who had time management issues. Little did Alice know, the picnic punch was seriously spiked, the rabbit was Lulu the cat, and the crowd got a good laugh seeing her, face down, in the salad bowl.

Fortunately, not all girls named Alice are complete flakes. In fact, there’s a really cool Alice that designs pretty little products that enhance everyday living.

I was at Lekker Home yesterday in Boston’s South End, and found these cuties that I thought you’d enjoy. The bright patterns cheered me on a drab winter day, and the dots expecially interested me because I’m a dotty type, I just love circles. I collected Mr. Yuck stickers as a kid because they were green and round, still my two favorite things in life – the color green and all things round. Thank goodness I didn’t look for the same qualities in men…

alice potholders, set of 2, various patterns, $26
alice tissue holders, several patterns available, $10 each
alice aprons, several patterns, $42 each
alice coasters, I think they were around $48 for a set of 6.

Happy Owl Glassworks

Happy Owl Glassworks is so adorable. When I first heard about them, I immediately purchased an owl pin for my jacket. For $8, you really can’t go wrong. Now, I’ve spotted the absolute cutest item for the home. It’s a night light made of fused glass with a little owl that makes every bump in the night a lot less spooky. You can also select a chubby little bunny night light. Each cost around $40. They’ve also expanded their line to include a fused glass “skunk” soap dish (shown in photo). Can’t think of a smarter image for hands that go from smelly and dirty to squeaky clean! Oh, and there’s talk of a sale coming up in the next few weeks so make sure you log onto their website after January 14th… Let me know what you find!

Perch Design

Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee, every little bird in the tall oak tree.
The wise old owl, the big black crow, flappin’ their wings singing go bird go!

I love Perch Design. Everything is so clean and white, so happy and fun. I’m crazy about the salt + pepper “feet” and the early bird lamp; gosh, so cute. Did you see the gordon lightfoot lamp? You know you love it! Their vases are sweet too, they really have a simple whimsical style that just works. Perch Design is light-hearted and happy along with modern and functional. Very cherpy! All items are designed by Brooklyn, NY based artist Amy Adams who uses white ceramic that is glazed and smooth to the touch. If you love birds, you’re adore Perch Design. What do you think?

Blow rockin’ robin, ’cause we’re really gonna rock tonight!

Barneys New York + Others Coming to Boston!

Learn more about the opening of Barney’s here.

Just in from the Boston Globe…

“Sexy stilettos and sumptuous handbags will be up for grabs at Jimmy Choo, which is tentatively slated to open its doors at Copley Place in April. The store — the company’s 16th in the United States — is designed to have the feel of a luxurious 1940s boudoir, complete with chandeliers, velvet-quilted sofas, and satin-paneled walls, according to a company statement.

This spring, Copley Place shoppers can also look forward to the contemporary clothier Max Studio and youth-inspired Lucky Brand Jeans, a mall spokeswoman said.”
