Rinne Allen is an amazing photographer that I recently discovered after Lucy at Hable Construction told me about her – Rinne snaps a lot of the photos for them. I really love her photography and wanted to share her work with decor8 readers. Rinne doesn’t live in the big city though, she’s actually tucked away in lovely Athens, Georgia where she spends time cultivating her flower garden, working on DIY projects, and of course, snapping many a lovely photo. As a graphic designer, creative consultant, and photographer, Rinne has a trained eye for spotting things that will convey emotion – promising to leave an impression on the viewer. This is what makes her such a sought-after artist, her images allow you to see something in different way, to appreciate what some may view as the mundane things. When she shoots for Hable, you can really picture yourself wearing the bag or using the pillow in your home, her photos make you desire what you see. Rinne also creates handbags using vintage florals and soon to unfold a collection of pillows and pins.
Thank you Rinne for your permission to display some of your photos here on decor8, we love seeing them!

Jonathan over at Happy Mundane sent me a tip about his Dermond Peterson post – he thinks decor8 readers will really like these and I think he’s right! Here’s a link to his post here, so you can read more about Dermond Peterson and see additional photos!
Thanks Jon for the tip!

Lucy at Hable sent me these photos last month and I’ve been meaning to post them; they’re photos of the Hable Construction store located in their Manhattan Perry Street location.
I love a good shop tour, and since I haven’t visited their Perry Street store, I was pretty excited when Lucy passed these photos my way. Thought you’d like to see them, too. Eye candy! (Don’t you love examining every detail – these photos are packed with product, such fun!)

By the way, have you laid eyes on their perky little oven mitts? Perfect gifting idea! Purchase a baking cookbook and place an oven mitt on top with bar of high quality baker’s chocolate and wrap in clear wrapping paper. What a pretty present!

Being a big fan of La Redoute clothing for years now (chic and cheap finds!), I was super excited when I learned that they’ve teamed up with French design trio, Atelier LZC (a decor8 fave, read interview here) to launch a gorgeous range of homewares. There’s a pretty room divider screen, fresh and colorful duvet, super pretty clip-on lamp (great for your headboard!), and my favorite, these amazing roman blinds. Drool! [update 5/17: these blinds are not from atelier, but look very much like their pattern.]

Velocity constantly updates their site with new items so you always have endless choices when it comes to filling your nest with beautiful things (and many excuses to empty your wallet!). Here are some of my favorites, fresh from Velocity.
How sweet it is! Introducing the perky little love chair from Jonathan Adler. Slightly cottage, big on style, and very happy chic! I also like the weight dinnerware set from Jonathan Adler, you can set the table in style while still being able to afford the food on your plate. Also, there’s always an abundance of cool art at Velocity, and with new works from Jeremiah Ketner, you’re sure to find something to give life to that one wall in your house that you can’t seem to dress up. Now you can. Looking for a creative way to show off your green thumb? Try the Perch plant orb. Perch also has a few new birdies from their nest to yours – add one of their new trangle bird lights to your decor. It will give your space that extra pinch of character without detracting from your clean modern style.

Purlfrost is another chic frosted window film company based in London, available in plain or patterned and super easy to install. Purlfrost will also work with you if you have artwork that you’d like created into frosted film (how cool!).
If you order soon, you can take advantage of thier special – order any 2 foils of the same design & size and get 30% off the second one. I just love the natural designs… You have to check them out!

Whether you’re a country mouse, or a city mouse, privacy is always a concern. One major trend I see sweeping across the UK and into America lately is chic frosted film – decals that are as stylish as they are functional. Sure, frosted glass has been around for ages, but the ability to create your own on a budget – brilliant!
Brume in the UK produces the coolest patterns too – you can get your frost on in style! Easy to fit, Brume window film gives you the privacy you crave while allowing natural light into the room, and since the film laminates the glass, it makes it nearly impossible to smash. Get creative and apply it to cabinet doors and interior doors, too.

As you well know, I’ve been a bit obsessed with prints + posters lately. Today, Design Public introduced Pushmepullyou Design Art Posters. At $30 each, they’re a budget find.
Pushmepullyou Design started creating handprinted posters for bands in 2003. Since then, they’ve worked with bands such as Death Cab for Cutie and Edwin McCain, and venues and promoters all over the US. Super cute designs!
