I first heard about Shelterrific over at media bistro and started reading it daily ever since. Angela Matusik is such a sweet person, and her blog is just, well, terrific. (You may remember her as Budget Living's editor-in-chief.) When Budget Living folded, she launched Shelterrific, a shelter and design blog featuring lots of interesting finds for ultra domestic types everywhere... I dig the surfing feature (a post dedicated to objects that they spot on various other sites during the week with mini reviews), all the yummy food pics, and some of their totally neat home accessories posts, like this one about Vermont designer and ceramicist Laura Zindel. Laura says this about her work,

"Currently our work is inspired by the Victorian Cabinets of Curiosity. The art of collecting and displaying ones' passions. I believe that some objects can carry a personal history through a family from year to year. I hope that I can make art that a family member can buy to be handed down the line. Something bought on a whim that becomes the platter for the turkey, or sits on the mantel. "Crazy old Uncle Larry bought that peculiar spider platter, and we just can't seem to part with it", I would like to be apart of that."

If you're in Boston this weekend (3/31-4/2), you can see Laura's collection at Booth # 505 at CraftBoston over at the World Trade Center. It's an excellent exhibition of 175 artists of contemporary craft, however unlike many trade shows, you can actually purchase items at the show and leave with them same day (cash 'n carry). Hours are Friday 3/31 from 10-7, Saturday 4/1 from 10-6 and Sunday from 11-5. Hope to see you there!
