coffee + cre8tive {july 5 '06}
I'm back from a long holiday weekend. Having four days off was heaven. We kicked off the weekend at a romantic little spot of ours (the best creme brule ever) enjoying live jazz and mojitos. Our friends Tim and Yolanda got engaged on Friday (congrats!), Tim stopped by last Wednesday to show me the ring, which was of course, amazing. I'm so happy for them - they're getting married in October.
The rest of the weekend, we stayed local to enjoy the sights and sounds of Boston (lots of walking, dim sum, shopping in chinatown, strolling the banks of the charles) and then spent a day in Concord, MA (mostly at the Decordova museum + sculpture park). Spent time with friends on Sunday, watched Germany lose to Italy yesterday (heartbroken here), saw Dr. Phil and his wife in Boston (snapped some photos, it's a big deal when you see celebs anywhere north of NYC), caught up on a lot of reading... It was just nice to have 4 full days of complete carefree vacation time. The best part, it's already Wednesday so the weekend is nearly here again. How sweet is that?
For those of you who took time off, what did you do?
For a dose of inspiration today, check out the art of Lauren Gregg from Athens, Georgia. She sells adorable buttons, tees, prints, stickers, and of course, original paintings. Visit her online for more information. Psst: She's also the other half of Kangaroo Alliance, a creative firm that works with MTV, Schoolastic Media, Disney, etc.
