Pretty in Pink
I feel like showing you a few pretty in pink finds today since I'm hoping that it will somehow rub off and turn cold New Hampshire into a warm Springy day. What do you think of when pink comes to mind? Little girls? Love and affection? Blushing brides? Cotton candy? Does it calm you down or excite you?

While pink is a toned down version of red, it isn't perceived nearly as powerful as red despite being in the same family. In fact, most associate pink with weakness. Guess that's why most men wouldn't be caught dead in a pink shirt in the office while women show little problem wearing this flirty hue. If red is passion and fire, pink is all about being spontaneous and sweet. I associate pink with certain people, places, and movies. When I think of where I grew up, I think of pink (South Carolina) because we had lots of it in the surf shops and clothing stores. I also think of my pale pink izod shirt because I wore it constantly.
I'll say pink and you tell me what immediately comes to mind. Ready? PINK.
If you have a positive response to this color, if you think of positive things, try to incorporate it into your home and/or wardrobe whether in small doses or in Betsey Johnson extremes (tour her apartment here). You should be living with colors that give you joy and though many a lady claims that her partner hates pink and won't allow it in the house, you can inject shots of it in rooms that they may not spend much time in - like your art studio/office, your closet (wallpaper the inside of the door or if you have a walk-in transform it into a girly dressing room), or add it to your patio through cushions and flowering shrubs. Where there's a will, er, woman, there's a way!
