Springtime Decor Ideas: 20 Ideas To Enhance Your Home for S/S 2022!

Hello, there! Are you ready for Spring? I definitely am! Today I was checking in on one of my favorite Danish brands, Bloomingville, and found so much inspiration from their Spring/Summer 2022 collection. As I drooled over their press image bank, I thought of how many wonderful decor ideas for Spring that you could easily try at home this weekend - all from Bloomingville styling and products. There are simply so many clever ideas that we can learn from this brand. All products shown, and all photographs, are with permission from Bloomingville. Please visit their website or Instagram to purchase anything that delights you.

Here are 20 Ideas to Enhance Your Home For Spring/Summer 2022:

1/ Woven Room Divider

This boho style room divider is straight out of the 1960s/70s in modern, clean, cream white.

2/ Hand-painted drawer fronts

If you have a steady hand, you can paint only the front of your drawer fronts, or use a stencil. If you can do neither, buy it pre-made from Bloomingville. This is a lovely decor idea to spruce up any space quickly. I also love the idea of only the front of this piece being painted - very unique!

3/ Bold Walls

There has been A LOT OF BEIGE in our interiors world, especially on Instagram where it seems all of the stylish, western interiors are beige, cream, white… (I’m guilty, too!) Maybe it’s time to throw in a little crazy!? This wall with it’s bold color and bold mix of prints, is certainly a way to give a neutral space a gigantic color punch.

4/ Shelf on Shelf

Just when I was talking about color, I’ve returned to my neutral comfort zone. Oh, well! Here is a fun decor idea to steal - have you ever thought to set a shelf on top of a cabinet or credenza instead of hanging it on the wall? A Shelf on shelf! I like this a lot.

5/ Lavender Love

This is THE color of the moment, a fun, delightful, not-quite-full-on-purple. Lavender. It’s really a joyous color for a kiddie room but I love it in grown up spaces as an accent color, too.

6/ Layers of Texture

I love a layered bed full of inviting textures. This bed just says STAY AWHILE. It’s a perfect coccoon for Saturday morning and Sunday breakfast in bed. I love the mix of a patterned, tactile headboard with that stripe-y linen pillow and the embroidery on the pale terra cotta pillow.

7/ Natural Placemats

Speaking of texture, here is a way to bring warmth to your table if you’re not a tablecloth-kinda-person - add natural placemats to soften the wood, glass and ceramics.

8/ Fabric Wall Hangings

I could easily have a wall like this in my home, complete with that giant mouse cloth doll laying there on that pretty rattan sofa. I have a inner 8-year-old for sure! I love wall hangings like this in a kid’s room - they are wonderful above a bed too because if they fall on your child it doesn’t injure them and the way my son jumps on his bed, I need soft things above his bed because glass framed art would be a really bad idea at this stage in his childhood. I love how much warm wall hangings give to a room, you can opt for more “mature” themes for your main rooms like a quilt for a guest room or a botanical wall hanging for your bedroom.

9/ Sculptural Lamps

Lighting has definitely taken a more sculptural 1970s flair over the years, especially the ceramic varieties in creams and bold colorways. Do you have any bold, sculptural lamps at home yet?

10/ Glass Vitrine on Countertop

This is a little like the idea of #4 above, “Shelf on Shelf”, only this is glass vitrine on countertop and I also love this idea because so many times I want to keep my dishware on my open shelving grease/dust-free while still displaying them daily and this is the perfect way to accomplish that. I also like this for displaying cakes if you bake often at home, or fresh breads, or even a clever space for pretty jars of herbs and spices, oils or even a nice tea and mug collection. What would use this for in your kitchen?

11/ Pattern Mix

I love seeing petite florals mixed with stripes, checks and solids, a real favorite of mine for any room in the home. It has a very country yet modern vibe, it looks homemade, sweet, maybe even a little French or British.

12/ Bold Desk Color

Lots of us work from home and even our children with their school work, most of us require a desk or two at home. So many desks though are super boring and colorless - often just white particle board or wood. What about having a desk in mustard yellow or bold red or blue? Why not? Work can be more fun this way, right?

13/ Folding Table For Plants

Whether it’s a folding table like this beauty from Bloomingville in bamboo, or something else not as lovely, I like the look of using a folding table as a plant stand for an indoor or outdoor space. Spring is coming! You can paint your folding table in any color you like or if you are lucky enough to have this bamboo one, then you truly have a gorgeous piece to enjoy now and all-year-round.

14/ Ceramic Menagerie

Okay, the chair is stunning, I know but also this collection of mismatched ceramics - I love a well collected menagerie like this mixed with some pretty books. I totally love this look and I find that groupings of collections look so much better than scattered all over the room.

15/ Stripes!

YES the stripe is back! I really love seeing them on a larger piece like this settee, but if you don’t have the courage for this, go smaller scale with striped cushions or pottery with stripes, rugs with stripes, or art with stripes. The stripe is back for Spring/Summer, yeah!

16/ Warm Colors

It’s common to see tons of orange and red in the Autumn, but I’m liking these warm tones of the Spring! There are usually so many pastels or nautical themes this time of year, I’m liking the switch.

17/ Fun Mirrors

This sunflower mirror for a kid’s room made me smile. I love seeing so many fun mirrors lately, even for adults, the vibe is more playful with mirror shapes and frames. I hope to see more fun in adult spaces because after this crazy global pandemic, we will all need more humor in our days!

18/ Baskets As Art

Remember in the 80s/90s when our moms nailed baskets to the kitchen wall or lined the tops of kitchen cabinets with an array of baskets? This was seriously a thing for at least 20 years of my life, I remember! Baskets are indeed back and making their way back to walls and shelves, but for good reason, the “new” baskets are far more interesting and some are crafted as almost an art piece, like this beauty from Bloomingville. I personally am glad baskets are back, especially since so many countries and cultures are able to support themselves with the rise of interest in woven products once again but also, if made ethnically and fair, they not only help support villages but they are biodegradable and won’t end up in a landfill one day and that’s good!

19/ Display Ledges

I noticed in a few images how ledges are used as display again, and even in some Instagram homes I follow, people are intentionally installing bead board with a ledge/frame on top for displaying art, books and vases, for instance. If you don’t have the patience or interest in installing wainscoting, you can buy ledge shelves and mount them behind furniture - they aren’t full-on shelves (they have a very slim profile), but they definitely give you a chance to display things like pretty dishes and books, for instance.

20/ Corduroy Love

Oh my goodness I love cord! I love its distinctive texture with it’s tufted cords and just how warm and tactile it is. One of my favorite cord colors right now is a very pale, buttercream. If you can’t go big with cord, like this sofa from Bloomingville, then go small with cord pillows or a puff.
