Shopgirl Visits: Donna Hay General Store

Jillian Leiboff, a wedding and portrait photographer living in Sydney, wrote in to tell me about a fantastic visit she’d taken recently to the new Donna Hay general store in Sydney’s Woollahra specializing in homewares. For those of you who do not know who Hay is, she is to Australia what Martha Stewart is to America, the reigning domestic goddess.

Hay is Australia’s leading food editor, best-selling cookbook author, Editor of Donna Hay magazine and new store owner, she just opened her first concept shop in Sydney. Double wow, right!? Jillian and I would like to share with you a glimpse of her store visit, though you’ll need to visit her blog for the full scoop. Donna happened to be in the store on the day of Jillian’s visit so she received permission to shoot by Hay herself.

One of many goals I have is to open a shop someday so I’ve been collecting all the inspiration possible along with deciding on lines to carry so this is one of those stores that will go directly into my file.
