Namolio & Crochet Bedspeads…

I came across this photo a moment ago and connected with it on so many levels. Okay, obviously the giant doily throw caught my eye (you know me and my doily obsession) but the bench overlooking the Engish countryside…sublime. I want to be sitting there at this very moment gazing out over those homes and hills cuddled under the chunky and soft wool throw.

And speaking of a lush throw, you can purchase this one and others from an etsy shop in the UK called Namolio. I found a beautiful wool gray blanket with a tiny crochet trim for those of you not feeling the doily look. It’s sold here and shown above. I see Anna over at Door Sixteen liking that one.

Living Etc

And while we’re at it, I’m still trying to find this bedspread if anyone has leads, please let me know. I’ve been looking since at least last Fall, and all I could find is that the one shown in the Living Etc bedroom above is from Designers Guild London and they’re no longer available. :*(

Danielle's Bedroom - Style Files

Seeing Danielle’s new bedroom the other day over at The Style Files renewed my determination to locate a similar spread. I emailed her about this gorgeous bedspread shown above but unfortunately for me it’s vintage and one-of-a-kind. Plus I’m not looking for the star pattern without fringe, I’m hoping for a fringe and a flower pattern (I don’t have cats so the fringe won’t be a problem). I love how Danielle has her bedspread pattern (star) and her pendant (star) coordinate perfectly. She’s so talented and I love when someone pays such close attention to the details. Love it!

I really appreciate your doily love! Not too long ago, my grandmother asked if I would ever like her to make any doilies for me. I was touched, but honestly had no idea how I would fit them into my lifestyle & decor. Your posts came along in the nick of time, and Grandma is framing a couple very beautiful doilies she made as a wedding gift for us.

As for the bedspread, I think you need to commission a one-of-a-kind model…or crochet one yourself!

Gilby I could NEVER find the time or patience to make one with my own hands. But that doesn’t stop me from dreaming! I will find one someday, I just know it.

Have you seen this one over on etsy: http://tinyurl.com/mono9x
It looks gray, but she doesn’t say in her description. Then again, gray would be pretty with your purples!
I thought this was pretty too, but it’s king size: http://tinyurl.com/mk5ytp
Zara Home used to have something very similar, but now all they have are crocheted blankets. Same for Pine Cone Hill. :-(
Hopefully someone can lead you in the right direction!

Okay, sorry but I saw this other one with the same pattern and fringe. It’s not the same fringe, but this site has some gorgeous stuff!

I want this to be my bedroom….it’s settled. ;) I’d probably add a few splashes of color (a little more of the green like the seat of the stool) and some peonies in a vase, and I’d be set. I can just imagine plopping on that bed with a magazine and a cup of tea. Sigh…..thanks for the gorgeous images and inspiration, Holly. Have a restful weekend, if possible with all that packing! xo

I’ve never been a big fan of doilies but I love this rustic look, especially the photos of the dark gray and purple on wood.

ps some of your posts still aren’t showing up in my google reader. I assume you’re still working out all the kinks but just wanted to let you know

I’ve been obsessed with these since seeing this photo from Marie Claire Maison:

I bought a striped crochet blanket on ebay last week – which is lovely – but if I could find a white/ivory one, I might try dyeing it that dark dramatic grey.

I love doilies too! I’ve been working with them all week to come up with a new batik pattern. Now that I’ve seen this post I’m just drooling all over myself.

I love the first picture- I’m always looking for interesting ways that people have photographed throws, quilts, etc. I think that’s my new favorite!

I would consider the white bedspread with fringe a throw, not a bedspread. It may actually be woven on a multi-harness loom rather than crochet, but it’s hard to tell. Try using that in your search criteria. It is very pretty.

    Hi Holly

    What about this one?

    http://www.anangelatmytable.com/

You need to click on accesories, decorative accesories and then Boho Blanc. If you then click on Boho Blanc Crochet throw it should come up. For some reason the link won’t copy directly.

    Ruth :)

PS Love the blog! Good luck with the big move!

Loved the gray blanket with crochet trim and treated myself. Can’t wait for fall/winter so I can snuggle up on the sofa with tea and some smooth music. Thanks Holly :)
