O4i + Fritz Hansen Introduces Oom - What's YOUR Vote?

The world renowned Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen presents the concept product, "Oom - Sculptural Showcase", a new shelf unit designed by the Stockholm-based newly formed design firm, "o4i" (short for Office For Ideas). Collaborating with Fritz Hansen will certainly boost their business in the right direction, but at the same time the design-duo remains humble to the fact that they "just will keep on doing what they do best, no matter what client or project."

Oom can be mounted on the wall as an eye catching shelf to store your most precious possessions, or it can be used with a leg-base as a freestanding unit to work as both storage and a room divider. The unit comes with four fixed shelves, is constructed of solid ABS plastic and soon to be available in several colors including green and black (shown). Its sensual and organic shape is especially appealing to those who enjoy a curved design over the typical square storage units popular in so many homes today (mostly because curved designs aren't mainstream, yet.)

As this product is still in its concept phase, there is no final date set for availability. However, this beyond ordinary idea for storage intrigued me enough to want to post it. I'd like to see it in white or, taking it a step further, in teak. If you're a furniture designer, take note!
