Hello, I’m Holly Becker

I'm a creative entrepreneur who has embarked on an incredible journey of writing and design. Transitioning from a corporate career to pursuing design school and starting one of the pioneering design blogs, decor8, I’ve surpassed all of my expectations as blogging opened doors for me to contribute to influential magazines, write best-selling books, teach online courses, design products, host my own podcast, and even co-create a design magazine called HOLLY, distributed throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Along the way, I achieved two additional major life goals: relocating to Germany where I’ve lived since 2009 and starting a family, thanks to the flexibility of my work-from-anywhere career.

decor8 is a blog that centers around design and creativity, where I regularly share my own ideas and projects with my readers. Known for my accessible and personal style, passion for handmade crafts, and ability to blend vintage, modern, and global elements, I firmly believe that designing a cozy home with our well-being in mind is the key foundation for any project.

My journey in the design industry began in 2006, simultaneously as a blogger and a freelance writer for esteemed publications such as Domino, FLOW, Real Simple, Living at Home, and HOLLY. Since 2009, I've been offering online courses and workshops tailored to creative entrepreneurs, covering a range of topics from blogging and social media to styling and photography.

With nearly 20 translations and worldwide availability, my four best-selling books on design and decor continue to inspire readers. They include "Decorate: 1,000 Design Ideas for Every Room in Your Home," "Decorate Workshop: Design and Style Your Space in 8 Creative Steps," "Decorate with Flowers," and "Decorate for a Party."

My work has been featured in numerous publications and books, and I'm regularly invited to deliver keynotes at prominent industry fairs. I have had the privilege to consult and collaborate with renowned brands such as Anthropologie, Ferm Living, Farrow & Ball, West Elm, and Martha Stewart.
