Frequently Asked Questions
When does the course run? Class is taught online for 3 weeks. We begin on Monday, November 20 and wrap up on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
How does this course work? One lesson is delivered daily, Monday-Friday, to our classroom.
Do I have to be online at a certain time? No, you can enjoy the lessons whenever you’d like. You have two year all-access to this course until December 31, 2025.
Is there a student community for this group where I can make new friends? Yes, you will have access to our membership community where you can meet other students. You will have a free three month membership with all-access. After three months, you can stay in the community for a small monthly fee if you wish or if you sign up for another class, you get the community for free for another 3 month period.
Are there live calls? No, since students are from all over the world and it’s impossible to coordinate times with the many time zones. We connect through chats instead in our lively community.
Is there homework? There is no weekly homework. There is one project that you can work during class if you’d like.
Do I need Facebook or Zoom to participate? No, we don’t use either in this course. You do need to sign up (free) with Substack and download the Substack app to your smartphone (app is optional).
What’s included in the fee? You’ll get 15 lessons (5 per week), bonus lessons, and access to this class for two years. You’ll also have access to our student community on Substack until the end of this year.
Is this course a tax write off? If you’re running a business, you can generally can write off this class as an educational expense. This applies to German, UK, and United State tax laws. Please double check with your accountant or tax website in your country for more information.
Can my employer reimburse me? If you’re taking this course for career advancement, show your manager this page and ask what they think. You will get a certificate of completion (upon request) and a receipt of payment.
Can I get an invoice from decor8? You will get a receipt of payment that will show any added applicable taxes/VAT that you paid upon enrollment. I cannot give you an invoice from me (or decor8) but you will get a receipt of payment from Payhip.com
Do you accept other currency? Your currency is converted automatically when you check out using Paypal, Stripe, or another preferred payment card.

Hi, I’m Holly Becker, founder and educator behind decor8 courses, the online education branch of decor8, that I launched back in 2009. I’ve had the honor to teach thousands of wonderful students globally, turning this into a thriving 7-figure business as a one-woman show.
I'm a self-made American entrepreneur who immigrated to Germany 14 years ago after spending my life on the east coast. I studied business and marketing, and later returned to university to study Interior Designer. I also spent a decade training under photographers and taking photography courses so I could create beautiful online content and produce imagery for my own blog, books, and later, my very own magazine.
I pioneered design blogging in the USA and Germany by founding one of the first interior blogs - decor8 - which evolved into four best-selling books, international tours, HOLLY magazine, speaking engagements, the Hello Holly podcast, products, and my work as an online educator - I've been teaching online for over 15 years and I run retreats and in-person workshops, too. My story and my work has appeared in over 800 newspapers and magazines globally.
