Amy Ruppel Blog

May 12, 2006

Amy Ruppel Blogdecor8 contributor, Anh-Minh Le, wrote to me last night about Amy Ruppel and her blog. Of course, we’re big Amy fans (see post from 4.14.06), but did you know she has a blog? Best part, she posted some photos of her home in Portland, OR recently that I just love. I don’t know about you, but I’d win the peeping Jane award because when I take walks at night, I dig gazing into the homes I pass. It’s so interesting to look at how others arrange things, don’t you think? Peek into Amy’s space. She has lots of great photos of her lovely nest right here.

I love this couch – wonder where she got it from?

Also totally with you on the peeping. I’ll wreck my neck one day trying to look into all those gorgeous parlor floor apartments in Brooklyn Heights… Why are we so curious about how people arrange things? My husband thinks I’m just nuts, but happy to know I’m not alone :-)

I love her place just about as much as I love the original painting I bought from her two years ago!!! It is so great!

Thank goodness I’m not the only peeping jane around. My husband also thinks I’m insane, so Asli, I’m with you there. Most guys don’t seem to have this peeping problem, I think the peeping tom only refers to perverts peeking in bedroom windows watching the neighbor girl change clothes. A peeping jane is different, we peep because we are downright nosey about decor. We want to see what that family has going on for design. What color is the paint? Neat wallpaper! Amazing sofa! Interior lust of a different kind. Sexy is different for us. Sexy design, not sexy neighbors running around in their skivvies.

Brooklyn Heights has a lot to peep for! I love those little streets off of Montague… and along the waterfront. Drool. My friends live over there so when I go down, I do a bit of peeping at night myself. The best local peeping in Boston would have to be Commonwealth Ave and Marlboro Street. Brownstone lust at its finest. :)

Lisa — I’m happy you like Amy’s place. Isn’t it fantastic? I love the way she painted her wall over the sofa!!!
