Hello, I’m Your Teacher!
Hi, I’m Holly Becker, the founder and instructor behind decor8 courses.
I'm a self-made American entrepreneur who immigrated to Germany in 2009 after spending my life on the east coast. I studied business and marketing, and later returned to university to study Interior Designer. I also spent a decade training under photographers and taking photography courses so I could create beautiful online content and produce imagery for my own blog, books, and later, my magazine.
I pioneered design blogging in the USA and Germany by founding one of the first interior blogs - decor8 - which evolved into four best-selling books, international tours, HOLLY magazine, speaking engagements, the Hello Holly podcast, products, and my work as an online educator - I've been teaching online for over 15 years and I run retreats and in-person workshops, too. My story and my work has appeared in over 800 newspapers and magazines globally.
When I started blogging, I had NO CLUE how to build a business online. I wish there was a course like this one when I began! Frequently Asked Questions
I took your Blogging Masterclass and other blogging classes from you in the past, is this the same? No, this is a completely different course with no repeat lessons. You can view the full curriculum above. This is the perfect class for anyone who has taken blogging classes with me previously as all content is new, discussing 2023/2024 blogging trends and topics.
How does this course work? The course is 6 modules with 5 lessons per week. You can begin at anytime. You don't need to log in at a certain time. The moment you enroll, you have access to the entire course. The course also comes with a membership community where you can meet other students. There is no weekly homework and no live calls. There is one project that you can work on if you wish.
Do I have to be online at a certain time? No, you can enjoy the lessons whenever you’d like either weekly, at the end of the course, or even months later. You will have two years all-access to this course until December 31, 2025.
Do I need Facebook or Zoom to participate? No, we don’t use either in this course.
What’s included in the fee? You’ll get 30 lessons (5 per week) and two year access to this class along with a 6-month membership to our student community. Lessons include worksheets, printouts, videos, audio files - so many fun ways to learn, you’ll love it!
Do I need a blog or email list to take part? No, but you'll want BOTH once we finish class.
Is this course a tax write off? If you’re running a business, you can generally can write off this class as an educational expense. This applies to German, UK, and United State tax laws. Please double check with your accountant or tax website in your country for more information.
Can my employer reimburse me? If you’re taking this course for career advancement, show your manager this page and ask what they think. You will get a certificate of completion (upon request) and a receipt of payment.
Can I get an invoice from decor8? You will get a receipt of payment that will show any added applicable taxes/VAT that you paid upon enrollment. I can also issue you a certificate of completion if you need that as further proof that you took this course.
Do you accept other currency? Do you allow for refunds? Your currency is converted automatically when you check out using Paypal, Stripe, or another preferred payment card. Due to the nature of this course, there are no refunds unless you are very ill or lose someone in your immediate family. In those cases, a credit will be given towards a future class as long as you notify me by September 30, 2023.
