Jenny Duff: Modern Placemats, Coasters + Trays

I have been a lover of those typical cork-backed and melamine coated placemats from the UK for years. I like them because they are so durable and easy to clean, you simply wipe the surface and viola! post-dinner clean up is no longer such a chore. When I started buying them back in 1998, my purchase was based solely on how practical they were, not because they were pretty because, well, they weren't very stylish back then. Most had photos of typical tourist attractions on them or of fruit and vegetables that looked like something you'd find in grandma's kitchen. Not anymore.

I heard about Jenny Duff, via the Print + Pattern blog and just love her unique collection of high quality placemats, coasters and trays. She works with top illustrators and photographers to develop modern captivating designs. Take a peek for yourself right here.

psst: If you're in London between June 2-4, 2006, you can meet Jenny Duff and view her collection at Stand number E51 in the Design Shopping Arcade at the Grand Designs Live show at Excel. For more information about the show and for tickets click here.
