Trine Thorsen Photography + Rom123 {Norway}

One of my favorite things to do is to spotlight photographers that I love. Today I’d like to show you the work of Norwegian photographer Trine Thorsen. She has a great eye for photographing food, lifestyle, fashion and interiors as I’m sure you’ll agree. Here are some of my favorites from her dazzling portfolio. So much color, warmth and texture here, simply dreamy… A nice way to kick off a new week after a long holiday weekend, don’t you think? I love seeing fresh new interiors.

I discovered Trine’s work via Hei Astrid, a lovely blogger based in Bergen, Norway. Astrid took her readers on a little tour of Trine’s home as featured in Rom123, a design magazine in Norway. Rom123, despite my inability to understand a single word of their website, has some beautiful images if you feel like clicking around over there today. It looks like a really nice interiors magazine. Here are a few inspiring interiors and a few dresser DIY ideas that you may like. Check out those funky knobs!

What do you think of the styles shown above? Do these looks appeal to you? What elements do you like or dislike?

I love the varying sizes of the wooden knobs on the white dresser. If I had nice, old, wood kitchen cabinets, I’d love to do something like that with the drawers.

I love the rich, saturated colors. Especially the plum flowers & candle.

The exposed natural wood beams are a great contrast to the stark white walls.

    Just lovely, lovely work!

    I like the stenciled dresser

I like the idea of the different knob sizes for a child’s room, though they might have trouble opening the drawers. And I like the painted flower on the dresser, but maybe with simpler knobs.

I am glad to be not the only person who buys large spools of yarn because the color is beautiful :)
I love the real patina on the wood items – I grew up with identical tables that were built by my great grandfathers.

ooh love these photographs, found this post v inspiring, the use of purple and lilac above is beautiful. The scandinavian’s seem to have a natural way of creating such laid back rooms with low sofa’s and scattered cushions, with lanterns and reclaimed furniture. They are inspiring, i will def look at the nagazine’s website and also Trine and Hei astrid, thanks for sharing Holly

If possible this magazine is really worth subscribing to! Since I live in Norway I get to pick up Danish and Swedish decor mags as well, but this is by far my favourite. The DIY projects are fantastic, the homes they feature are inspiring, and they always list their favourite picks along with a comprehensive list of places to shop to find all the goods listed.

The purple, lilac, and blue bedroom is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!! & I love all of the “weathered” furniture in some of the pics too. This is a very inspiring post Holly! Thanks!!

I’m a subscriber to this magazine myself, and it’s pretty decent :) The knobs of various sizes are actually “The Dots” coat hooks, designed by Norwegian duo TVEIT&TORN?E for Muuto (http://muuto.com/)

i like the flower on the dresser from ikea. i have that on my refrigerator. i also love the use of colors to liven up the spaces – the purples and turqoise bring personality and brighten up thoses spaces. i like the lavender blinds – seems appropriate for a cute bed and breakfast, but i probbably wouldn’t paint my house that shade.

Ooh, show more, Holly, show more! Not big on stencilling meself, but loved the colours, and the placement, and the whole ‘worn-in ness’ of some of the shots. Thanks !

fun to see you (the queen of polished interiors) blog about 123. i live in norway, but never buy the magazine as they are to “shabby” in my taste.

i guess i need to reconsider.

I love the pink colors. Can you believe my boyfriend doesn’t like the look of the Eames chairs with the wooden table? I totally adore it :)

Some of the rooms are very decent oriental, I love this style, especially the lilac rooms….think Trine visited the Casa Lila in Essaouira/Morocco :-)
…after being back for about one week from morocco I am in the blue and green mood…but after watching this pictures our living room should be maybe better like it is…in lilac :-)

I love the dressers on the left. I’m not very crazy about the look with big buttons. I’m more of a classic gal. Just found your blog-very fun!
