New: Unique Los Angeles Design & Gift Sale

I just heard from Sonja who has organized a fantastic new design and gift sale called Unique Los Angeles set for December 13-14, 2008. Sonja was hoping I’d spread the news as she’s super excited about her project and hopes that local artists and designers will be interested in partaking in this very special event she has planned. I really like her website and think that based on that alone that her taste must be good so I’m sure you can trust this event to be just as nice. Unique Los Angeles is a shopping event held at the California Market Center in downtown LA that gives shoppers the opportunity to buy local handmade indie goods while supporting the local economy and the massive creative community that exists there.

Sonja has around 225 vendors that sell everything from clothing to stationery, jewelry to baby products, and of course ceramics, screenprints, artwork, body care, and more! In addition to shopping you can also enjoy:

  • LEARN: A DIY Lab where you can create your own gift tags and wrapping paper at no charge and where you can screenprint custom t-shirts.
  • RELAX: Enjoy relazing in the The Lounge to take a break, read a magazine and enjoy a drink while listening to the DJ.
  • EAT & DRINK: Eat a little something at The Cali Cafe – meals, snacks, coffee, dessert, etc.

If you are interested in setting up shop for a few days and participating in this event, vendor applications are online and the deadline is November 2nd. You can obtain more information here.? Thank you Sonja for getting in touch with me and all the best on Unique LA!

Thanks so much for your kind words and enthusiasm Holly! Clearly great minds think alike, as we both used fabric as the texture for our websites. ;)

To all the modern, fresh, witty and whimsical vendors out there: I’d love for you to apply and look forward to discovering great new artists/designers/foodies/etc. (That discovery is so much of the fun part for me and the public…)

Keep up the great work, thx again for the support!

My fiance (The Mincing Mockingbird) applied to this show. It looks like it will be an amazing chance to hang out for a couple of days with creative minds and get my Christmas shopping finished up.
