In the advertising world bold typography is often used as a key ingredient to create an unforgettable ad. In modern homes, typography displayed in the form of prints are used to create an unforgettable room — lots of people display prints that rely solely on text to convey a particular message, always something meaningful to them.
I just heard from Made By Girl founder and designer, Jennifer Ramos, about a new line of Love and Hello prints (16 x 20″ and $25 each) that she just rolled out — I’m sure they’ll be a hit with their sleek charcoal background and white lettering with your choice of either Hello or Love in multiple languages. There is also something quite subtle about these posters that you may not notice upon first glance. In each of them either Love or Hello in English can be found hiding in light gray. Did you catch that?
How did she select the languages? Jennifer picked the top fifteen countries where her readers tune in from to read her blog each day. How thoughtful!

Unfortunately she should have checked proper spelling.
AE is NOT the same as Æ in Norwegian and Danish. Proper spelling is: kjærlighet and kærlighed.
Is “hallo” meant to be Norwegian on the hello-poster? If so, it’s not wrong, but “hei” is far more commonly used. “Hallo” is old-fashioned.

Oh it’s good that she knows, perhaps she can edit it.

Hallo is also dutch for Hello, just like Liefde is dutch for Love. So perhaps she meant the dutch spelling for hello?
Anyways I love the Love lettering :) i hope she still can alter the Æ in her posters.
January 29th, 2010 at 6:02 am
These are great!
‘Hallo’ is used in Dutch, and as I see ‘Liefde’ (Love in Dutch) on the other poster, that’s probably it… :)
I actually really, really like these….Would be a nice thing to greet people with when they walk in through the front door!

ps. I also see Konnichi Wa which is probably also nog the same spelling as the Japanese words for Love *grin* maybe she did it un purpose to use the AE instead of Æ?

I would buy the Hello print! It would be very nice in my entrance ? and a nice way of greeting my guests… not sure if the black and white colors would be my fav though. Any other combo planned Jennifer?

I adore madebygirl, both the blog and shop. I’ve ordered two prints for my home and some cards for girlfriends and I plan on ordering the hello print for my entryway- so cute! Thanks for the heads-up!
January 29th, 2010 at 12:35 pm
Regarding Hallo, I thought that the two posters had the same languages, but now when I look more closely I see that they use different languages so just forget my complaint about it.
Anyway, the posters are cute, they just need æ :-)
January 29th, 2010 at 2:06 pm
First, thanks Holly! oh!
Ok, folks….even though I like the print better this way…I will edit it.
There’s no reason to be harsh about anything.
I’ve received lots of orders already, but I haven’t sent any out yet.
I will have them edited today & mailed out the way a couple of you had suggested.
:)
I think having the print this way makes each letter stand out more…but I understand. :) Thank you !
We are just in time! woo hoo!

Very cool – I especially like the fact that she added the English words in gray. It’s subtle, but a really nice touch. I agree that the reason behind selecting particular languages is also very thoughtful. My only wish though? That they were done in a different font. I love typography prints, but I’m just over this font.
