Garden & Home Blog Awards In Berlin

April 26, 2017

Hello! Are you thinking a lot about plants and gardening at moment? How about fresh flowers? Well, this weekend, I’ll be in Berlin for the Garden & Home Blog Award event sponsored by Blumen 1000 Gute Gründe, Tesa, Toom Baumarkt, Venso Ecosolutions, Siena Garden, Mein schöner Garten magazine from Burda, Amano Group and Visit Finland, all in conjunction with the big garden show – IGA Berlin 2017.

I can’t wait to meet the many garden and home bloggers attending and to present the winning blog in the “Best Blog Design” category (see all of the finalists here).

I’ve been working hard behind-the-scenes as part of the jury for the past several months and now it’s time to go and award our winners! So Bonny & Kleid, The Nina Edition OR Dekotopia will win in the category that I’ve been selected to present. I wish you three the best of luck, along with the other finalists in all of our categories.

It will be so good to be back in Berlin for a few days, I’m taking the train Saturday morning and returning Sunday night so while it’s only a quick trip, I will definitely be out and about and sharing my less than 48-hour adventure on @decor8 Instagram – which by the way, I recently passed 100k followers – I am very excited about that! So if you would like to follow me to see what I’m seeing in Berlin, you are more than welcome to travel along. I’ll include some IG Stories just for you, too!

Thank you Simone, Julia und Friederike from PRACHTSTERN for including me in this wonderful and meaningful event for bloggers.

Gorgeousness! I have been a mint green lover since I was a little girl! I love it on walls, on furniture, home decor and on me. When I was 5 years old, I spent a couple of days with my grandma who lived in another state. She was always an “eclectic” kind of grandma and even at that tender age, I always found her amusing and so much fun. She had decided one day, she was tired of her “boring old kitchen”. She had a square wood table which she kept and washed it white. She then took me along and we went foraging for 4 wood chairs; of course they didn’t match. We took them home and I watched while she mixed the most beautiful shade of minty green milk paint and turned those 4 mismatched chairs into magic. Down came her gingham currents, out came her sewing machine and yards of white cotton broadcloth, I was in sheer delight.
The minty green cabinets in this kitchen take me back. I would swear the shade is the exact same shade my grandma mixed. The design of Tikkie’s cabinets with the lovely wood countertops are exquisite. The touches of mint she has used in the rest of her home could not be more tranquil and perfect. Thanks for sharing a beautiful post, bringing back a memory and making me take a second look at my kitchen cabinets.

Wow sounds like a great event! I absolutely love plants in a house they really bring a sense of nature and freshness into an urban space, especially if you live in the city and need a bit of release from the harsh, polluted environment! Love the decorative candle, so pretty!
